Talk about a whirlwind! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day though. Everything went smoothly, the entire day was laid-back and fun, and I dare say I don't look too shabby in my dress for being newly pregnant with our 4th boy. 😎
In lieu of bridesmaids and groomsmen, we had our wedding party do other jobs. Readings, flower girls and boy, running music (our ceremony and reception venues had sound systems accessible via Bluetooth, so we just created our own playlists that we had a friend run instead of a dj), etc. Our 3 boys were security and they took their job VERY seriously...as in we had to talk them down from tasers and offer handcuffs instead. In addition to walking me down the aisle, my dad also handmade our unity cross.
We had guests start eating as soon as they got to the reception so they weren't waiting on us, and we were actually the last to get there and eat but everyone was already fed and therefore in a great mood.
Instead of cake we had glazed donuts and candy, and instead of favors we packed little pails with stick-on tattoos at all the tables. We had about a million little kids in attendance and they were all covered head to toe by the end of the night. Even the adults were getting in on the fun.
There was no bouquet toss, dance, or speeches. Simply everyone hanging out having a great time. We still have guests telling us that we had the best wedding food they've ever eaten, and the most fun and unique wedding they'd ever attended.
All in all we had about 130 guests, and I think the grand total for everything came to just under $15,000.
