Ballroom bustle

FutureMrs2017, on September 26, 2017 at 9:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Has anyone done a ballroom bustle on their trumpet wedding gown? My dress is very beaded down my train so I feel the American bustle covers all the beading and I don't like the bubbled look of the French. I've seen a ballroom bustle on a few dresses, but not a trumpet style wedding gown. I'd love to see pics if anyone has them!

Hey FutureMrs2017! There are lots of names for each type of bustle, and I get confused between the American bustle and the ballroom bustle, but you're looking for a multipoint overbustle, yes? If so I had one on my mermaid dress. I don't have my pro pics on me, but here are candids of my train, in case that helps at all.

ETA when first bustled my skirt laid even flatter and nicer, but this was taken later into the reception and I had been hitting the dance floor hard, so it is a little lumpy in the pic, but hopefully you still get the idea.

Thanks so much @WWJo. I'm just worried it will cover all the beading on the back of my dress.

Have the seamstress show you different bustles when you go for your fitting.

@Daniella I just came from my fitting yesterday. She showed me the American and French bustles.

I have this dress and I asked for a 3 point bustle to show the details of the dress. The seamstress originally suggested a 1 point bustle but it covered all the beading. I will be picking up my dress next Friday so I can show pictures then.

It's really pretty! I guess the French bustle would show off more of the beading but the Ballroom bustle would blend more naturally with the rest of the dress, is that the choice you're making?

I found this bustle, which I do like. Not super sure what it's called, but I like that it still shows off the back of the dress.

My dress has a similar beading situation. I didn't want to cover up all that beading. I ended up having a french bustle but it's not as bubbly as you think it is once it's done.

@WWJo Basically. Now I did find this bustle on google. No idea what it's called, but I like how it still shows off the bottom of the dress. I may ask my seamstress if she thinks we can make it work.
