Ballroom Bustle

nomiabdo, on August 28, 2015 at 10:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

Hello!

I am getting married in a little over a month and am going in tomorrow to get the bustle for my dress done by the local seamstress. I wanted to get a bustle that is referred to as a "ballroom bustle" (aka train flip or hidden bustle) because my gown is a ballgown and the typical 3-point over bustle would run the look of the dress. I was just curious if anyone else had this type of bustle done on their dress and what their experience was with it. I've heard that this is the most expensive bustle because they have to pin it multiple times in the back to give it the even look. If you've had this bustle done on your dress I'd love to know if it held up all night and if you think it was worth the price.

Thank you,

Naomi

How did the appointment go, Naomi?? I'd love to see a picture of the 'ballroom bustle' ~ I'm not as familiar!

    Hi Christina,

Unfortunately, the fabric on the dress is too thin for this type of bustle so they couldn't do it. They said that the fabric would end up ripping if they tried. I have a different idea now and am hoping that it'll work out. Thanks for asking! With the ballroom bustle, they flip the train under your dress and it attaches at points underneath the dress so it lays flat and looks like a ballroom gown. I've attached photos showing how they do it in case you're interested in it. Smiley smile
