Balloons in pool and floating from tables...too much?

Jennifer, on January 12, 2019 at 3:48 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
So there is a pool overlooking a pond in our reception area. We will have round tables positioned around the pool for seating along with accenting stand up bistro tables for added standing table space. We have considered putting some weights/washers to some white balloons to float in the pool without them moving around too much or congregating to one area. I found a Pinterest idea of oversized white balloons as part of the table centerpiece decor, floating high enough to keep out if immediate line of view. I’m considering this as well since it’s all keeping within the balloon accent but I still want it simple. Does is sound too corny having balloons everywhere? I think it could be done elegantly but I don’t want it looking like a kids birthday party haha

I love the balloons in the centerpieces! I personally would choose to use them in one place or the other. In the pool and as centerpieces sounds like too much.

I think both is too much. I’d pick one or the other.

I had been considering the exact same thing of an either/or instead of both on the balloons
so I’m glad you and Caytlyn mentioned it! The pool is gorgeous and has lights within for when it gets dark and a waterfall edge on one side. A bridesmaid suggested maybe even a floating initial “J” (he’s a Jones) with white/blush floral since those are my flower and accent colors and keep balloons at every other table. Thoughts ladies?

That sounds super cute! Maybe some floating tea lights around it?

I think the picture you posted on the left looks really pretty. I think the larger the balloons the better, average size might remind me of a bridal shower. I love the idea of the tea lights in the pool and agree you should keep the balloons to one area.

Is it possible to use paper lanterns above each table (hung from ceiling) instead of balloons to be more eco-friendly?

I LOVE the look of balloons but cannot, in good conscience, use them due to how much they hurt our environment and sea life. 🐳🐬

I think the balloons in the pool would be stunning and neat since it's not something that usually happens! However I'm not sure the balloons as centerpieces would turn out like the pictures and might be too much🤷

I love the idea of the balloons as centerpieces but the pp idea with using lanterns would be awesome!!

Maybe some scatter floating candles or flower things would be nice in the pool so it's not as over the top but kind of accents each other??
