I've tryed the petticoat and feel like it has to many layers to add to the already extremely layered dress but I'm kinda just trying to see what others have done. I'm most likely going with the hoop skirt. I wanna hear the cons of a hoop skirt.

One of the cons of a hoop is that it doesn't "give" as much when you walk/stand next to someone or something. So, if you're walking with someone, you dress can cant over to one side. Additionally, depending on the hoop, you have to sit differently so that your skirt doesn't stand up in front of all and sundry. A lot of this depends on the material of the actual hoop and the number of "bones" in the hoop.

Honestly, if you're not sure, you should look at your dress over both - walk with someone, dance with someone (mom, MOH, dad, whoever you don't mind being that close to) and see how they feel and look when you're doing these things - make sure you sit in both as well.

I almost bought that dress Smiley smile It's beautiful. When I tried it on it didn't feel like it needed anything, it was poofy enough already. But I'd have gone with a petticoat for it instead of a hoop, seemed more natural.

It's definitely poofy enough. It's just a little to short for me. I'm not a heal person AT ALL!!!! So that's out of the question and it's not wnought to hem it and I'll lose the wavyness that's at the bottom. I felt that with the petticoat David's bridal had it was getting caught between my legs when I walked around and added a bunch of extra weight to the dress. The dress itself isn't to heavy for all the tulle it has. I found a good hoopskirt off Amazon that's like $20 that has alot of good reviews for ppl who do cosplay so I was gunna try that. Walk around in it. And sit forsure that's what I'm worried about. If it doesn't work oh well I can return it and figure something else out.

I wear hoopskirts all summer long at the Renaissance Faire that I go to. They are very comfy, and easy to sit in if you know how. What you will need to do is pick up the upper most hoop and back up into a chair. There are a lot of videos online showing how to do it. But if you just go sit down without first lifting the hoop, your dress will go flying in the air!
