Balayage Hair Consultation!!

RhnCasi419, on June 8, 2015 at 11:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Does anyone have balayage highlights done to their hair? I just came from the salon and I hate my hair color. Same, tired color, either too much blonde or too dark with no dimension. I researched this technique in highlighting and it seems more up to date. Who has done this. I'm consulting on this before my hair trial on July 2nd.

What kind of questions do you have about it? I would bring in pictures of what you like.

i have had it done but i don't think that she did a true balayage because my highlights had already grown out a bit. she basically just had to add highlights to frame my face and some on top to blend my roots. i think she probably added some low lights in too.

i dont have a good picture of it because i didn't take any after i got my hair done and now i am 4 months out or more so it was pretty grown out by this weekend when i had my hair trial done.

eta: but considering that i havent gotten my hair colored in months it actually looks really good. i have been using a blue shampoo to help keep it from going brassy

My girlfriend had it done and her highlights look beautiful. She is naturally medium brunette and has blond weaved throughout her hair. The color looks natural and even after a couple of months the color has not turned brassy or too ashy.

I just had this done two weeks ago for the first time(only 2nd professionally dyed time). I went to Ulta on a whim before a vaca and the girl fit me in in between clients, BIG MISTAKE. The balayage process takes a lot of time because they hand paint the highlights then it has to process(about2-3 hours). I would DEFINITELY do a consultation first and take pictures of exactly what you want(just google/pinterest search balayage and your hair color). Also make sure you feel completely comfortable with your stylist, their abilities and that they understand your vision. I HATE my results- too light, too much, too splotchy and have to wait two more weeks before I can get an appointment with a stylist who will be able to fix it. So I guess my advice, go ahead and do it! With the right person you can have beautiful results- just make sure you come prepared with a vision and trust the person doing it.

I have lowlights and baylayage. You can...kinda....see it with my hair, but I don't know that I'm going to maintain it.

I had balayage and my hair got so brassy even with purple shampoos and toning treatments. My hair now practically breaks off. It really concentrates a lot of bleach at the midshaft and ends where hair is the most damaged.

For your consultation, make sure to ask how many sessions it'll take to get your desired color. A reputable place will slowly work to your desired results to reduce damage

I got mine done and I really do love them. It does take longer, but it's worth it.

I had mine done last Friday for the first time & I love them! It is definitely a process but took way less time than usual (foil). I hadn't been highlighted since last summer so it was definitely noticeable. (Excuse the awful lighting...swear I usually don't look haggard!)
