Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you need a passport to go to the Bahamas? FH and I will be going on a cruise to Bahamas for our honeymoon and I just want to make sure we have everything we need so there wont be any problems.

Yes, you will need a passport.

We were hoping we wouldn't because our cruise leaves and returns to Florida. But since we spend a day in the Bahamas, it is required for boarding our ship.

Thank you! Ours does the same. We leave and return from Port Canaveral but have two stops in the Bahamas.

Yes, you need a passport to go into another country, including Mexico and Canada.

I would get it just in case. We went on a cruise that had 2 American stops on the route. and the fact that we were told that we did NOT need to have those items on hand. When we got to the port they told us that we needed to also have our birth certificates and social security cards. We came from Texas to Florida. I was not happy and they were not trying to refund your money or make arrangements for us to get home.

Yes you definitely do need a passport for anything international!
