Bad feeling

Julie, on August 25, 2020 at 12:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Ok, so I emailed my reception venue Sunday afternoon to check in and also to get some questions answered. I didn't expect a quick reply due to it being the weekend. I kept an eye on my phone this morning thinking they would call...nothing. i called there this afternoon and it rang and rang and then went to a full voicemail. I'm trying not to panic, but my wedding is in a little over 3 months. I have an awful feeling that i hope is just my natural gut reaction (im a worst case scenario type of person). Do i need to yank myself back to earth or am i justified in freaking out?

If you emailed Sunday afternoon then I’d give it some more time for their reply

When was the last time you spoke with your venue? I wouldn’t be concerned just yet.

I would give them at least 72 hours from 9am Monday to respond to you.

I wouldn't be concerned just yet. Many people aren't working in office they are replying to emails from home. I would give it a couple more days

I agree with PP, a good rule of thumb is to always give vendors at least 72 hours to respond. Especially now, during these weird times. A lot of people are working from home right now, or working reduced days/hours. I know the event coordinator at our venue is only there two days per week right now.

I wouldn't worry yet, I've had some vendors that have been really slow to respond and it has felt like pulling teeth. Also keep in mind that with a lot of people having to move their dates there are a lot more events happening right now, including weekday weddings

My venue communication dropped. They simply have been running with less staff and it takes them an extra 2-4 days lately to hear back from them, before covid I would have a response back the same day.

I totally get you concern, but don’t freak out yet!

If it were me, I’d wait until Thursday to get a response. Friday morning I would start bugging them......

Take a breath and give them a few days. Many companies are not fully staffed yet and people aren’t all working full time. I’m sure they will get back to you.

I would give it a couple of days. Maybe they are not working on Mondays (reduced hours due to Covid)? If you do not hear anything by tomorrow, I would possibly find someone else to reach out to or try to visit the venue in person.

Update, thanks all for calming my nerves and backing me off the ledge, they got ahold of me and all is well.
