Backless dress

Amanda, on May 25, 2019 at 9:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I have a backless dress and I am worried about being lifted enough in the chest. The backless bras do not work for me and I am worried that sewn in cups will not provide enough lift. Boning can be added to the front, but not to the back of the dress. Does anyone have any out of the box solutions from their seamstress? I was thinking maybe cutting a body suit. All of the low back corsets/bodysuits/bustiers don't sit low enough and as a result, they are still visible with my dress. Not sure if garments like that can be cut....

Have you considered one of the lace-up adhesive bras? I thought they didn't provide enough lift too, but I'm going to wear one with my dress (which also has built-in cups that don't give me enough!)
I don't think cutting a body suit would end up working, unfortunately. They're all too high because they need that support.

I always tape my boobs with duct tape when I need support and can’t wear a bra 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes I have tried all of the adhesive options. Also tried this but I don't like the molded cups and it doesn't really sit right....

I used this "whole body" undergarment from The Bridal Bra™ for my backless dress... made specifically for backless dresses, as well. It works tremendously!

You can have a skin tone lining of power mesh sewn in behind the lace (if you're okay with it covering your back, it would still *look* backless), and that lining can do wonders for supporting the girls, if it works together with the boning. In all honesty, the bridal salon was negligent in showing you the dress if you're larger chested. Some dresses just don't allow for the support needed.

I’m a 40H and I was surprised at the amount of support sewn in cups provided. While I wouldn’t go on a trampoline with them, the girls were super lifted and supported, like I was wearing a normal bra. I think having a dress with straps/sleeves will help.

Maybe something like brassy bra. https://www.brassybra.com/collections/all like duct tape, but made for skin.

Back in my pagent days we just duct taped them.

No, I don't. But if you have an Instagram account, you could look them up. I believe they have the website link enlisted somewhere in the bio of their profile. Hope this helps!❣

Hi Amanda! Have you found a solution to adding some lift to your bust without it being visible?
