Backless dress undergarments? 1

Backless dress undergarments? 2
My seamstress mentioned that I should bring my undergarments with me to my alterations appointment. I'm wondering what ladies with backless dresses wore, if anything for a bra? My wedding is on the beach so I would like to be as light as possible with the layers so I wasnt thinking of wearing spanx. I assumed she would be able to just sew in cups as I'm looking for a little more lift and support in the front. But then I read that some will only sew in up to a C cup and that backless dresses cant have cups sewn in. I've never worn stick ons either as I'm not sure if they will provide any lift or stay on in the heat (My size is 34 DD) my appointment is in a week so any advice is appreciated!!

Have you ever tried the stick ons? I’ve heard great things about them😊

32DD here and this thing works awesome for me. I've used it multiple times and its still sticky. The only time I've had issues is when I'm already sweaty then try sticking it on. Doesn't work lol. Bought it from DB for like $40

My daughter is a 36DD. The bodice of her dress was fairly similar to yours. Although, her dress had a ton of built in structure (I can't tell if yours does). Her alterations were done at the bridal salon. They took her dress in a little at the side seams to get it as tight on her ribcage as possible, then they ended up using two sets of cups/pads. They sewed a larger set of push-up cups (the last thing my daughter ever thought she'd need as a DD! Smiley winking ) into the dress so they were just below daughter's chest -- they helped lift her up. There was still a little extra room toward the top of the bodice, so they sewed a set of smaller cups near the upper-outside edge of the bodice. As a result, her natural chest fit fairly snuggly into newly padded bodice of her dress. She looked awesome. (She tried every stick on and backless bra option she could find and nothing worked for her.) Good luck!

And I gave up. I will only ask my seamstress to do the magic. I hope once my dress is not too wide, my girls are closer to each other and a bit lifted. My wedding is going to be in tropic, so I will ask her to remove my pads and I will use my sticky nipple covers. For some reason, my dress came with thick push up pads 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you seen the bridal bra? Its one piece and lightweight. I ordered one, liked that it felt comfortable, but was a little too big to really tell about the bust support (too long in the torso). So I just ordered a smaller size to try. I'm a 36DD, but in plunge styles I like better coverage so opt for a DDD. I've tried the adhesives, even the one with the drawstring.. didn't work. My preference would be to have cups sewn in my dress like other posts mention. My fittings have not been scheduled yet. I'll be following for suggestions too.

I was thinking this too... right now the top is very wide and loose fitting. After looking at other people's pictures with the same dress fitted to them I'm wondering if I may be able to just go braless and still have a little lift I'm looking forward to seeing the seamstress and seeing what she can do!

This is great info!! I thought the same thing when the dress came in, I was surprised how large the top of the dress was. I usually have the opposite problem! Haha after reading all of the comments I'm thinking that the seamstress will be able to work some magic!

I've been having the same issue. I tried sticky bras but none of them did what I wanted them to do, pull in from under my arms and up. I was thinking of something like the bridal bra, but then I thought about how easily (or not easily) going to the bathroom would be. I decided to purchase the Skims sticky tape. I read reviews on more generic bra tape and they all said they gave great support, but taking if off was extremely painful. The reviews on Skims were great and people were saying it came off painlessly. I haven't tried the product yet, but at least I know with tape I can use as many strips as I need and customize my own support options.

I just wanted to update everyone! My seamstress was able to sew in push up cups and once the dress was taken in on the sides it fit perfectly! I have my second fitting next week and will update with a picture 😊
