Backless dress for church wedding?

Sunni, on October 14, 2015 at 11:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I'm seriously contemplating choosing a low back dress for our ceremony, but I'm not sure it'll be a appropriate for our church wedding. Would wearing a veil covering my back make it more appropriate? The back will come up higher on me because of petite frame. I also plan to add an extra drape so the opening will be at least 2" higher than on the model.

The dress itself looks tasteful and I personally don't see a problem wearing that for a church wedding.

I would assume it depends on the church...but I think this dress would be fine. what does the front look like?

I think that's more than appropriate- but I also think that's pretty high in the world of low backs.

You should be more than adequately covered..

I think that dress looks fine. I have a backless dress and I'm having a church wedding. My veil more than covers my back, so I'm not concerned.

I think it really depends on the church. I think it looks fine, but I know that standards vary. My church wouldn't have any problem with it. I asked our priest and he said if it wouldn't make my grandmother faint it wouldn't bother him.

That said, my dress does have a low back and I am wearing a lace bolero that covers my back. That was more of a style choice than anything else, but you can do something like that and then remove the jacket/bolero/whatever after the ceremony.

I think that's totally fine, even without a veil, for a church wedding! Depends on the church I guess.

I'm having trouble uploading another pic on my phone, but the front is a pretty demure v-neck.

    Thanks for the input, guys!
