Back fat/ dress insecurity

Sara, on May 13, 2017 at 3:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

I just recently recieved my dress for my wedding in August and tried it on yesterday (no alterations yet). And while the dress is beautiful, I feel like any back fat I have is seriously highlighted, something I hadn't noticed when I bought it. I still have a few months to tone, etc, but is it really as bad as I'm thinking? And is there anything I can do about it?

You look great in it! We're our worst critics. I see what you mean now that you pointed it out but anyone who notices that rather than your wedding and having fun can fuck off!

Beautiful dress and I don't see any back fat! My dress is completely open and low cut in back. I too was feeling insecure but I've been taking kickboxing classes to help tone up my back and arms. Just lifting weight should help Smiley smile

Beautiful! But you need to feel comfortable with your dress. I would 2nd PP suggestion about adding fabric to the lower back if that is something you are worried about.

I see what you mean...is that back fat or wrinkles in the dress material? I can hardly believe that you would have back fat! I would get some fabric sewn in though so it's not see through.

That is not back fat I think with a little alteration the gown will be smoother.

Thanks so much everyone! I feel so much better already Smiley smile I will probably take all your advice and get a bit of material sewn in the lower back just so I'm not fretting over it. Also, I have no idea why the picture is sideways - the one I uploaded is normal, and even rotating it didn't make a difference.

You look beautiful. I know the feeling. I wouldn't have noticed anything if you hadn't said something. My back is illusion as well. I accepted the fact that I didn't love that much skin showing. I'm having the fabric brought up and a corset put in.

I think the dress is beautiful and you look stunning.

If it's that concerning to you, nothing a little workout won't fix!

You look amazing! Focus on how great your hips looks in that dress! It's a great shape for you.

It is a beautiful dress and you should not feel bad at all. However, if it bothers you a lot, I can tell you that I swear by Tracy Anderson. You can find her on youtube to see if you like her style. I ordered her Abcentric DVD and I'm telling you....within one week it changed the look of my body, particularly around the waist and back/lovehandle area. This is just what I use. It's not for everyone. But you could probably look up a couple of her arm workouts that will also work your back, or abs workouts and see if you like it. Again, you look great!!

I think you look beautiful! I can't remember the specific thread but there was a posting sometime within the past week of someone's gown with before and after alteration photos. It was like night and day! As I said, you look wonderful but I bet after the dress really fits the way it should (after alterations) you'll find that your insecurities have vanished.

To be honest, I definitely see what you are talking about. But don't panic! Smiley smile I think it is the see through mesh bunching and not your back. I agree on first getting it taking in and then if it is still bunching then adding white faux on the lower of the mesh parts. Pretty dress!

I would not have noticed anything if I weren't looking for something and I don't see back fat. Exercise a little, but mainly to make you feel more confident.
