Back bulging… alter or buy different dress

Back bulging… alter or buy different dress 1
Dress shop ordered a 16 for me (haven’t bought yet) and the back is bulging. I really loved this dress but am torn about the back. I don’t want to be called “stuffed” on the wedding day and my family is judgemental. Wedding is in 24 days! I don’t know what to do and am driving myself nuts about it.

A seamstress may be able to find a decent fix. One option might be to add illusion or lace insets on either side of the bodice, or possibly in the back.

Have the top lined then it won't be as noticeable. A seamstress may also be able to add boning to help the back hold it's shape.

Add a corset. They are incredibly easy to install & versatile as most brides to be tend to gain or lose before they marry. A corset back makes life SO much simpler because they still fit into the dress with some weight change (within reason) Corset backs are very forgiving & lay flat without creating any pieces or parts we don't highlighted. I wish we could see the front/sides

This is the front but in a 14. The 16 fits better but somehow… I don’t have a photo. Per sister and mom, no issues in the front, just the back.

I think we’re going to try stronger boning and then insets/panels under the arms if that doesn’t work.

Good you have a couple options to try then. It should all work out well.

I think it looks fine, but a little extra boning and/or corset lacing should help. You can also try different bras to help your shape. Also, how are you wearing your hair and will you have a veil? That could add extra distraction/shielding on the back!

Talk to a seamstress and see what they can do
