Just Said Yes September 2020

Bachelorette was cancelled during to Covid-19, not sure what to do at this point?

Zhané, on March 22, 2020 at 4:29 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8
My maid of honor just told me that our bachelorette plans were cancelled by the booking. My other bridesmaid who works in hospitality said that her hours are getting cut back significantly and she is worried about her finances. Our photos for our invitations are postponed til further notice. So at this point I don’t know if I should keep planning, and if my guest would even be able to attend due to financial strains. My wedding is in September.

I feel like the world is in a crazy place and people probably won’t feel safe to leave the house in the next two months. I would plan a Bach closer to your wedding date. It could seem a little insensitive if you would still plan for this when everyone should be on lockdown.

If you read up on the Spanish Flu, it came in three waves. March 1918 was the 1st wave, Fall 1918 was the 2nd wave, winter 1918 was the 3rd and final wave, ending December 1920.

SARS virus spread from November 2002 till July 2003.

I wouldn't bank on this ending by September.

Why would you compare this to the Spanish flu out of all the outbreaks that happened? Please don’t place fear when we don’t know the facts. There’s no need for her to cancel her wedding at this moment.

My bff has her wedding in sept and before all this happened we all settled on late August for her pre wedding events. So between now and then, things might be ok and things can still happen for your pre wedding events.

Yes, the Bach was planned late August, so since the booking cancelled it, I got pretty worried. Also, worried about the unplanned economic toll it might be taking on my guest.. Yano?

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this Zhané! It's so unnerving! Right now I feel like it's really difficult to make any kind of plans for a few months from now, given how quickly local situations and guidelines seem to be changing. The general bridal consensus seems to be that it's too early to panic, but also that a lot of people feel more personally relieved with a Plan B in place!

We've started gathering helpful resources in the COVID-19 Wedding Support Central , and you can connect with other September brides in this discussion.

Hi Zhane! I can relate. This is all so surreal. I still cannot believe this is happening in the United States. It is so challenging to move forward with the planning process.

My bachelorette party was scheduled for July 2-6 at Essence Festival in New Orleans, now postponed due to the Coronovirus. I am bummed over that because I am not sure we will get our funds back. Everyone is experiencing hardships. I believe that you will be able to still have your wedding, however it may be with less numbers. We are looking at the same situation. Our wedding is scheduled for October 24th! We don't really want to postpone IF we are able to have it even if the advisory states no more or less than 100 in attendance. We just want to get married. No one knows what the future holds. Lets all Cheer up and lets be positive. Praying for all the couples and people world wide!
