Bachelorette Party?

Peachypie, on August 2, 2018 at 12:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I am just at a loss when it comes to my Bachelorette Party..

Please refrain from the "But your bridal party is supposed to plan that for you" commentary. I'm not a traditional bride and they all know I don't like surprises, so they asked me what I want to do. I am coming up completely blank.

I live in FL and though I would like to do a destination BP, I want to curb the spending for myself and the girls. I would like to do something chill, but would also like to enjoy an evening out. I am sick of Orlando and not interested in Miami. I just can't decide on anything I absolutely must do.

I want something fun and different. I don't need to be surrounded by plastic penises and banana hammocks all night. Help!

I originally wanted to do a destination bachelorette party. I live in Wisconsin and I want to drive to Nashville for the weekend but most of my bridal party does not want to do that. So I'm going to either do a Paint and Sip at my house and then go out to dinner around town and go bar hopping for a couple hours. Or we're going to go to an escape room, not sure if you have any down in Florida where you're at. Then have the girls come back to my house and hang out then go out to dinner and bar hop for a couple hours.

We are doing a spaafternoon, then getting dressed up and going to a nice-ish dinner. Then staying in a hotel that night. Should be pretty relaxing!

Depending on how many in your party, what about renting a place through Airbnb (usually less expensive) and going to the keys? I’ve also spent some time on the western side of Florida, Fort Myers and Sanibel Island. It was a long time ago but I remember loving it there!

We did a paint and sip for my bachelorette and it was a lot of fun. It was cool that it's BYOB so we got to bring craft beer and snacks for everyone. I wanted to keep costs low and also didn't expect my BM to go away somewhere for me - they have kids and spouses and lives too.

A few of us went to a couple bars afterward too.

Yes this is a good idea! We did my bach party at an air bnb in Indian Rock Beach, FL and it was AMAZING. We got one with a pool so we spent a lot of time just relaxing around there during the day then we went out to a nice dinner one night then drove to Clearwater to bar hop and party the next night. We did a few hours at the beach too and it was super nice and not crowded at all.

I think you can can save money by going this route because you can grocery shop and make some meals at the house and you won’t feel the need to go out and spend as much money because you’ll have an awesome place to hang out at. We cut both or nights out short because we all just wanted to go back to the house and drink by the pool.

Hi Jacquelyn! You are so lucky to live in Florida, so many fun places to go! I agree with the above comment, look into getting an Airbnb for a night or two on the Gulf side! Maybe Destin or Tampa area? You could also go down and do Key West!!

I think it's fine if you're involved! My MOH asked me what I wanted to do and when, since I'm having to fly out to CA and schedule my flight anyway! I told her Palm Springs for a weekend, she coordinated when & where we were staying. She's planning meals & activities I think, but I'm for sure involved! So mine is destination for me & one other bridesmaid, and the other girls are all driving 1-3 hours to be there. We rented a house, $105 per person for 2 nights. We well lounge by the pool & go out & go out at night! I'm not familiar with Florida. I'm assuming you don't want to do Disney World or you would have mentioned it. Could you go to New Orleans, Alabama or Georgia? That might be fun if you wanted to do a weekend somewhere and get a house or hotel. If you just want to do a 1 day BP, you could do a wine & paint class, a yoga class, a cooking class, go hiking/camping/fishing, go to a spa, do a spa day at home, go to a nice dinner, escape room, mini golf, real golf, beach/lake day, go to a nice movie theater?

I'm from Louisiana so for my bachelorette party, I've been throwing around the idea of going to New Orleans for the ghost and vampire tours. It's different and something all of my friends and bridal party could enjoy since some of them will be younger than 21 and 18 at the time.

I just asked for a night tent camping in a state park with smores and classic campfire dinner and breakfast, and camp songs. Because we were all Girl Scouts at one point (and most of us worked GS camp for years).

I had the same exact issue! I live in FL, and I’m not a huge drinker or anything so I was NOT wanting any night club vibes or strip club. I was starting to get nervous with what my bridal party had planned, but they know how I am. We just did a couple days at Disney (we live an hour away from Orlando) and it was fun! Had nice dinners, hung out at hotel, Disney! I know Orlando doesn’t interest you, but maybe even like a nice hotel that has a spa, with a pool, and just literally hangout and lounge around! This is suppose to be relaxing for you and a time to not be stressful! I even told my bridal party even if I just sit in a hotel room in my PJs that’s be fine for me, I need to relax! Lol

Not sure if this would actually be the affordable you are looking for, but you are only a quick cruise ride away from the Bahamas! I’m in CA so when my family goes it’s expensive because of flights, but you are so close! Just a thought
