Bachelorette Party Idea- lame or fun?

Ok I'm in the process of nailing down what to do for my bachelorette party. Ok I'm in the process of nailing down what to do for my bachelorette party. I really dont want to spend the night away from my FH (we've only spent one away from each other since we moved in together a month into our relationship). I also dont want to just bar hop or sit around and drink. A local animal park is doing a fundraiser for their wolves. Its called Wine for Wolves and includes wine and food samples. I basically just really wanna get drunk and pet a capybara which they have. I'd also settle for petting a llama, camel or giraffe (you feed them carrots with your mouth!) which they also have. Does this sound like it could be fun? We could also go out after the animal park and keep drinking and do some dancing. Im just obsessed with animals and thought it could be fun and different :-D

I'm confused why you wouldn't want to spend a night away from your fiancé. There's nothing wrong with spending a night apart and I promise you'll both be okay. Going away for a weekend or night with your BM's would be a great time! I wouldn't cut it out just because you're afraid to spend a night away from him. Let your bridesmaids plan for your bachelorette party with as few limitations as possible, it'll work out better for you and them.

I love animals so it sounds fun to me and I don't think it's lame at all. Do you think your friends would enjoy it? If so, I don't see the problem. Like other posters have said, I'd encourage your party to save the drunk part for whatever activities you do after the zoo, but petting & feeding animals while a lil tipsy off wine seems like a good time.

It's your party. If that's your idea of a good time and it's what you want to do...go for sister!

I honestly don't think this sounds fun other than the wine part. But that's just me

Do whatever you want to do but it sounds smelly if you're gonna go out to the bars after!

I would totally do that... except for the "feeding an animal out of my mouth" part. But the rest sounds like fun.

That sounds badass! The Franklin Park Zoo sometimes has Brunch with the Red Pandas and I really want to do it one day, but as it's a fund raiser, it's expensive, and I'd just die of how cute it would be.

The last two bachelorette parties I've been to have been in karaoke halls. There's nothing better than badly and drunkenly singing songs you don't actually know that well with some of your closest gal pals in an Asian style private room (not in a "bar with strangers" setting). I may ask for mine to be the same way.

My MOH was at a bachelorette party a few weeks ago that was the stereotypical NYC/JerseyShoreWhore cookie cutter of strippers, phallic necklaces, princess crowns, a limo, ever flowing alcohol, and fights between the ladies and the passerby population.

It really depends on what you like as a person.

That sounds fun! Well, I don't know that I'd feed animals with my mouth, but I'd feed them with my hands!

At this point... you're just doing something to do something. It's not a bachelorette party.

Sounds like a ton of fun! I think my MOH is planning on having us all take a trapeze class and then have dinner out. I'm more of an adventure person than a sit at a bar and drink person and so are my friends, so I think it'll work well for us. It's all about the personalities of the people going!

I would have fun with Wine and pets. I don't want to feed ANY animal from my mouth though. I don't even let my dogs lick my face. Bleh! But hey if you think it's fun go do it girly! When read wine I was there with you lol

I love it because I love animals, but I think you should then go home, shower and go out and about

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! It's something I would really enjoy and 2 of my three bridesmaids like the idea and the third most likely will too. It's only 35 bucks for admission and food and drinks. They also offer pellets you feed the animals with your hands. And then there's the long carrot sticks for the giraffes. One is pregnant and gonna have a wittle giraffe behbeh soon! I also came off a little overzealous in the OP and I don't plan on getting shitfaced and messing with the animals lol. The owner of the park is a friend of a friend so I will be on my best behavior! I will definitely share pics when it happens. It's all taking place on October 1st! ETA: I really really really want to get my hands on the damn capybara though...
