Bachelorette party guest list

Emma, on September 9, 2019 at 12:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hello beauties,

When we first started wedding planning I only wanted a maid of honor. My fiancé said he had to have at least three guys who he wanted in the wedding. Now we are up to four on each side. My mom and dad will be paying for the wedding, and my mom wants me to have a big bridal party. I told her I wanted to keep it small and then I would invite a bunch of people to my bachelorette party to help celebrate. She said that this is not appropriate since they will not be in the bridal party. Has anyone done this before? Thank you in advance!

It's very typical to invite friends to the bachelorette who aren't in the bridal party.

Agree with PP, so long as those friends are also invited to your wedding, they don't have to be part of the bridal party to go.

I've been to lots of bachelorette parties for friends whose wedding I was not in.
I am having 5 bridesmaids and will be inviting about 15 people to my bachelorette.

I dont know why she would say its bridal party only. As long as the other girls are invited to the wedding, I see no harm in including them in the bachelorette party!

It's super normal to invite friends to the bach party even if they aren't in the bridal party, as long as they are invited to the wedding it's fine.

It's perfectly fine to invite friends who aren't in the bridal party. The bachelorette is not just for bridal party!! It's for whoever the bride wants to celebrate with. Sometimes that means a small intimate gathering, other times it's a huge party.

And tell your mom you appreciate her input, but you'll have the bridal party you want, not the one she wants. This is your wedding, not hers. Do what you want.

Totally fine to invite friends who aren't in the bridal party. I would not add to the bridal party just to please your mom. You can invite whomever you want to the bachelorette party.

You can invite whoever you want. I invited two extra friends to my bachelorette party this weekend! One is also a spouse and the other a SO of groomsmen.
