Bachelorette Party Gifts

Anne, on August 6, 2017 at 8:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

Hello all! My shower/bachelorette weekend is coming up next weekend and I am SO pumped! I am so so grateful to the amazing women in my life who are organizing everything.

I have friends from all over the country coming to celebrate, and I would love to give them all a small thank you gift.

(I'll note that I already have a large gift for my mother and MOH who are hosting the activities, and they have gifts for everyone attending the shower).

Any suggestions as to what you would like to receive if you were celebrating someone's bachelorette??

Thanks WW!

I'm confused? Like attending as a guest or if I was hosting? They did nail polish and succulents at my bridal shower and I just gave them a little gift of hand soap that said thank you. They are all in my wedding party so I just got them something small. As far as a bachelorette, I've never gotten or gave a gift for a bachelorette party.

As the bride I would like to give a gift to all the girls attending as a thank you. I know what it's like on the other side, the time and money that goes into being in a wedding party or attending a bachelorette. I was just looking for ideas of what the collective "you" as a guest might like or appreciate.

Is this a combined shower and bachelorette party or separate events in the same day/weekend? I've never received a gift as a guest at either type of event. I have walked away with momentos from the bachelorette but not parting gifts, no.

How many ladies do you need a gift for? What is your guess for a budget?

@Yoomie, same weekend, different events and slightly different guest lists. Friends at bachelorette, friends and neighbors and relatives at bridal shower.

@Kayla I was told 10 girls for the bachelorette, and was thinking around $10-15 each

Do you know what the plan is for your bachelorette, even just a basic one? If you're all going out to get drunk and stuff maybe a little "survival kit" would be appropriate. Things that would help the morning after lol!

@MelissaHH, definitely a card or thank you note! Thanks for the reminder Smiley smile

@Magnolia I love the survival kit idea!

I have never given a gift at a bachelorette, nor have I received a "hostess gift" for throwing one when I was a BM. Normally when the bride writes out the thank you with the gift for the wedding, she includes all the bachelorette in it. Gifts are not expected at bachelorettes in my circle, just drinks.

I did these for my friend's bachelorette this week. The bags were from Etsy and the toiletries from Walmart. I think it was under $10 per person.

I would think your hostesses have incorporated favor type things. Where I'm from, as a lot of the bachelorette/bridal shower stuff is regional, the favors at these things are usually given by winning the games that are planned. I've never felt that I needed a favor for attending and if I won a game I got something a little nicer.

I know you mean well with this, but really only a thank you card after the event is necessary. Whomever is hosting may have already planned favors, so you don't want to seem like you expected her/them to not do them.

I sent everyone thank you notes afterwards. And gave my mohs nice frames with picture collages from the weekend to thank them for their hard work.

I think thank you gifts are excessive for a bachelorette party ... save it for the BM gifts and say think you to everyone else
