Bachelorette Party Fails

******, on June 7, 2015 at 2:16 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

This weekend I flew 1 hour each way for my friend's bachelorette party, in town for 27 hours. The party was fantastic, but at 1 am, we realized her car keys were in her mom's purse. Her mom left the party early, and was completely across town at a hotel near my friend's apartment. The car was at her FMILs, and it had my overnight bag in it. I was able to borrow someone's contact solution, and we took a Lyft back to her car this morning with her spare key. I changed in the airport looking like I was on a walk of shame.

That said, I feel like a drunken bachelorette party is bound to have some crazy mishaps. After the weekend I've had, I'd love to hear some other stories!

My brother's girlfriend missed her flight so ended up missing the entire weekend. We were also supposed to all take the ferry to the cape but the ferry ended up shutting down that week because of the whales. Stupid whales.

Mimosas plus bumpy flight ended in the little white barf bag for my MOH. This was after she had to get escorted to an office for a pat down at the airport.

I actually almost had to miss the whole thing, too! I flew from Oakland to Burbank, right when we were supposed to board we were told there was an unexpected and unusual delay, wouldn't tell us what it was except that it was holding up 2 gates in Burbank so we'd have nowhere to land. I was supposed to get in at 9:30 for an 11:00 party. We ended up there without a delay, but when I got in there were news crews everywhere. While I waited for my ride, I found out 2 planes taxiing to/from gates had their wings collide. No one was hurt and the damage was minimal, but the news was trying to get everyone to say how scary it was. Everyone just said the kids were so excited to see fire trucks and they were just mildly annoyed.

My friend at her bridal shower and bachelorette party on the same day to accommodate her bridesmaids who were all out of town. It was only a few blocks from the restaurant where the shower was held and the hotel where we were staying for the bachelorette. I drove my car over to the hotel and parked it in the parking garage. Well, when I went to leave in the morning I had a flat tire! Turns out I had driven over a nail or screw from a construction site on the less than 5 min. ride from the shower to the hotel. Just my luck!
