Bachelorette drag……

So…. When it comes to my bachelorette party I took lead when it came to booking. We will be going out of the country and it was just a lot easier for me to handle the logistics (flight, hotel, airport shuttle, etc.) since I’m the common denominator. This was about a month or so ago and I haven’t...
So…. When it comes to my bachelorette party I took lead when it came to booking. We will be going out of the country and it was just a lot easier for me to handle the logistics (flight, hotel, airport shuttle, etc.) since I’m the common denominator. This was about a month or so ago and I haven’t heard much from anyone. Every time I message the group I’d get a few “likes” but no feedback.

Things were hectic with the Bridal Shower and every thing fell on two people. I really want to avoid that for the trip but no one seems to be responsive. I haven’t heard from anyone… no one has even asked what I envision or what I want. I don’t even know who’s doing the planning…. I don’t even feel excited 😓

Asking a lot of them? No one was forced to come

You originally asked about having your bridesmaids pay for their own bouquets, then expected $100 each from them for your shower on top of having your Bach in a different country (expense and taking time off work). You are going to an All Inclusive resort--what is there to plan (restaurants and bars on site)? I think any expectations beyond that are unreasonable.

I think some have misunderstood my post. When I say “plan” I mean the small “bachelorette” details such as maybe matching shirts, swimsuits, one person already have some bach games to play, decor like balloons and decorations the room, and actually planning the activities/excursions for the days that we are there (that we’ve voted on). I want it to be my bachelorette trip… not just a girls trip.

This is what I mean when I say “planning” and bachelorette details. The theme is “The Last Hoedown”

I think instagram has an awful lot to answer for when it comes to expectations for everything surrounding weddings (and life in general).

I suspect a lot of the one-off pictures we're bombarded with, such as coordinated swimsuits, just don't happen at all in real life. Crazy balloons for birthdays and other events are another instagram trend, and I remember seeing a documentary showing that most "influencers" end up ordering and setting up the balloons themselves..

Things like naughty biscuits and games probably do happen especially if the "bachelorette" is a one-afternoon affair with cocktails at the brides' house followed by a drink at the local bar, but I can see how that wouldn't cross the mind of people going with the bride on an actual trip abroad.

If the girls are willing to go on this trip, which it sounds like they are, that's already wonderful and I'd focus on enjoying the bonding time. Excursions can always be booked onsite!
