Baby's Breath

Jesse, on July 23, 2014 at 10:12 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 23

Does anyone know of where I could find really cheap baby's breath? Also I keep finding places that sell 100 stems of baby's breath - about how much is that?

I'm trying to do a rustic/backyard type of wedding, and decorate with mostly baby's breath - any suggestions?

I havent started looking for it yet but ive been told that unless you cant have it any other way to not do babys breath because its VERY hard to find and when you do its expensive! its all you ever see now on pinterest and florist know the demand for it so they hike that price up.

At costco you can get 100 stems for $80. That was the best deal I found Smiley smile

Also, 100 stems is A LOT of baby's breath. When I was planning on using it, 4 stems was plenty to fill a large mason jar. Just to give you some perspective.

I looked at using baby's breath only, through a wholesale florist, and it was only $250 less than going with a combo of mums, roses, dusty miller, lemon leaf, and baby's breath for the whole wedding. I think it's gone up in cost due to it becoming so trendy!

Costco, or you can also look at local farms. But yeah, it's become pricey because of the trend.... just like mason jars.... Poor little old ladies that can are cursing up at the sky because of us brides Smiley tongue

I bought mine through Fifty Flowers....I bought 30 bunches of New Love's Baby's Breath for $287 (they were on sale). Yes, that's A LOT of baby's breaths but my centerpieces are a floral wreath full of them, with candles in the middle (in hurricanes, of course). The rest will be placed here & there...plus some in the bouquets. When compared to Sam's, I paid about $.06 more per bunch using Fifty Flowers, but I didn't mind because I wanted the New Love's variety versus the Million Stars.

Babies Breath is super expensive. What about a variety of wildflowers? That would look beautiful for a rustic wedding.

I've heard they sell it in boxes at costco! We're using it a lot at our wedding too, so someone suggested that to us. They said it comes in a pretty small box, but there's actually a ton per box compared to how small it is.

My whole plan was to use baby's breath because back home in Jersey you could get it at produce junction for dirt cheap Smiley atonished

But yes, Future_Mrs_D that certainly DOES help me out!! It's a lot more than I thought I'd be getting.

I'll check into Sams Club as well.

    Thanks guys!!

I made centerpieces for my sister's shower back in March and I bought it at produce junction. It was super cheap. Not sure if you have on of those near you.
