Babies breath bouquets... how much?

Nessa, on September 14, 2016 at 6:53 PM Posted in Planning 1 16

Did any of you do babies breath bouquets for your bridesmaids? If so, how much did they cost you?

My venue (which includes and handles my florals) is quoting me $50ea. This just seems a little much to me for babies breath. I DIY'd some for less than $15z

I was planning on this being an area where I could save some money. So, I'm willing to pay up to $30 for them if it means not having to DIY (it's a DW, the less hassle the better) but $350 just seems like a lot for babies breath.

I DIY'd mine for about $4 a bundle. They were pretty big bunches too!

    Thanks ladies.

@Samantha, that's a steal!!! I made these (I'd have to buy better ribbon) out of one bunch which cost me $10. I'm sure it would be less through a wholesale florist though. I didn't research price. This was a quick mock up, just to see if I had it in me. Lol

I'm paying $40 for baby's breath bouquets. I went in thinking it was inexpensive, but the price has gone up due to popularity. Plus, you're paying for someone to make the bouquet for you.

For my venue, It was more expensive to do baby's breath only then if I did some baby's breath with one rose.

Our local grocery store does babies breath for 5$ a bundle! I've used them for everything from baby showers to birthday parties as centerpieces though no bouquets. I would compare with florist near by your venue though just to compare cost them make your decision for diy!

    Thanks all!

I guess I'll go ahead and contact other florist around the venue.

@FutureMrsNerd they should leave something inexpensive for those of us who don't want to splurge on something that is really only to please the eye and that will essentially die in a few days.

Lol @nessa seriously! Mine has greenery throughout as well. I know it's the service that I'm paying for.

    Oh, that's very cute!!

I agree, they have to charge for the service but it literally took me 10 minutes. There are 5 minute videos explaining but on YouTube.

Baby's breath costs pennies as flowers go, don't let them take advantage of you.

Talk to florists about it without mentioning the wedding if you want an honest quote, a lot of people will put their prices up if they know it's for a wedding. It'll give you a better idea of what you can actually expect to need to spend. (Not to trick them into doing wedding flowers for less- just to help set a flower budget!)

If they won't take prices down and you don't want to DIY, see if you can pay a relative or friend to do it, because there's no way you can justify a price tag like that!

My florist (which is the venues florist) literally told me for tall centerpieces on every other table (about 6 tables) would be at least $1500 more then told me anemones are expensive as well and I’m feeling frustrated Bc It’s like they only want you to want hydrangeas or roses. That’s it..
