Hey Wirees,
So, I finally got my pro pics back and they were absolutely worth the wait. Be prepared for a LONG post, as I am going to include a million pictures and a complete budget breakdown.
I had some things go wrong but that’s expected.
-We ran about an hour late
-I lost my glasses that I bought specifically for the wedding the morning of, so I was blind the whole day. I still haven’t found them.
-I couldn’t find my earrings, so my MOH ran to target and got me faux pearl studs.
-I forgot the flower girl basket at home.
-The photographer didn’t get pics of the rings, BM/GM gifts, seating chart, guestbook and welcome sign.
-My cake didn’t come out the way I wanted it to because, when I sent my husband to the bakery to give them the eatable decor and he didn’t properly explain how to decorate it.
-Both of my custom outfits that I ordered from Nigeria were in the wrong size so TWO days before my wedding I had to fly to Houston from NY to have a seamstress there fix it. I had multiple breakdowns because of it and my husband saw me in both of them before the wedding because I was hysterical when they couldn’t fit. But he didn’t see my ceremony gown so that was okay.
-About 20 of my guests missed the ceremony that already started an hour late because of traffic.
-There was an INSANE amount of traffic for a Thursday evening.
-A whole table canceled two days before so I had to rearrange my whole seating chart.
-The venue didn’t use all the decorations I provided
Overall I had an AMAZING time. All of my vendors showed up on time or early. My DOC was an absolute angel. Everyone was so generous with their gifting and it really touched us.
Our guests really loved the photo booth,
I got about 2k pictures from it. They also told me they loved the hand rolled cigars, the ice cream cones/bars at the end of the night and our favors were a BIG hit. I still get asked where they can get the moonshine. It made us really happy to see that the extra touches we decided to splurge on, our guests enjoyed.
We invited about 215 guests, 177 RSVP’d yes and we had 157 in attendance. We still sent our international guests invitations even though we know they couldn’t come because of COVID restrictions.
Tips: Don’t stress over the things that go wrong. Enjoy your day and make sure you EAT. If you have a large bridal party it is a must that you stress sticking to the schedule. TRIPLE check your checklist the night before.
SOAK IT ALL IN.
