Azazie Scares Me....

mel, on May 10, 2017 at 6:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Still on the hunt for blush bridesmaid gowns. Azazie customers, how did you handle the whole thing? I've got bridesmaids in 3 states, somehow no one knows their true size because when we've ordered dresses from other brands they don't fit. Dresses are $10 each to try on at home... It sounds ridiculous to A. ask each bridesmaid to pay $10 to try on a dress OR B. Pay a minimum of $40 out of my pocket so they can try on one dress. It would be slightly better if the $10 was then applied as a credit towards the purchase of a dress, but I don't think that's the case. Maybe this site is better suited for people who are relatively the same size and live near each other...

I ordered a few dresses for them to try on, I don't think $10 is too much, but it doesn't matter what I think lol. They could just get measured and get the dresses custom sized. You can order swatches instead of the whole dress to make sure it's the right color.

I'm extremely happy with the quality and fit, and so are my bridesmaids.

If it's too much for you, I'd just have them all go to Davids bridal. That way they can try them on.

The dress I wore for my engagement photos is from Azazie, granted I did opt for the try it on first option, but I really could have gone without it. You can give them the option to either pay for the trial dress, or they can just measure themselves and order from there. I frequently shop online for clothes, as I am sure a lot of people do these days, so it's not that big of a deal to bust out a tape measure and figure it out. Azazie it probably far more easier than most options, especially if your bridesmaids are spread out, otherwise go to DB.

Lots of people have had great success with Azazie.

Can't they take their measurements and order the closest size? A perfect fit is rarely going to happen with any BM dress regardless of where it's ordered from. Most dresses require alterations for a perfect fit. And if they want to try the sample dresses, I don't think $10 is too much at all.

We did the custom sizing. There is a detailed video that shows exactly where to take the measurements. My daughter and future step daughters are all very different. All 3 dresses arrived ahead of schedule and fit well. That includes one with a size 32F chest and a 28" waist. The only thing the girls want altered is the length. All 3 dresses hit perfectly at the knee, but at ages 17, 18, & 20, they want them above the knee.

My 6 BMs used the custom sizing and they all had good luck.

My best friend had us use Azazie for her wedding. We did the custom sizing and measured ourselves and the dresses fit perfectly. The only thing I suggest from them is to order a color swatch if you haven't already. The color we ordered looked way different in person.

Have them either measure themselves or have someone measure them. Then match up their measurements to the dress sizes on the website. It's not that hard to do.

Thanks guys. Everyone's very focused on the sizing issue. I was more concerned with asking everyone to pay $10 just to try on a dress in person, AND the box they ask you to check agreeing that you'll pay 2x retail price for the dress if you don't send it back within 7 days. Sounds risky. I'll keep looking, DB dress quality is so meh for the price and the styles are boring.

^^ but if they do the custom sizing there is no need for them to order a sample dress to try for $10. Custom sizing means it's made to their specific measurements. So it would be pointless to order the $10 sample.

And there are tons of styles to choose from and the dress are good quality for the price.

If the girls don't want to pay the $10 to try on the dress or risk missing the deadline to return, they could try on a similar dress at a store like david's bridal. Then they can get a much better idea of what size to get, then they would just need to worry about alteration costs if necessary. In the long run, the $10 isn't too big of a deal!

I didn't want to ask my BM to pay to try them on either........ so I did for them. I paid $20-30 each for my girls. And none of them had any issue sending it back. You're making a much bigger deal out of that part than need be.

I'll reiterate what @emily said. The custom sizing negates the need for the $10 trial dress. Have them take their measurements and do the custom sizing.

I just got a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding this summer. The quality is amazing! She ordered color swatches prior to us ordering our dresses to make sure it was the color she wanted. Also we just took our own measurements and they all turned out perfect.

As everyone said if you are doing custom sizing then you dont need to order dresses to try on....

Azazie is great!!! I was going to go thru them but my "youngster" BM's got on my nerves about getting measured... it was like pulling teeth.... i got fed up and just went local...

@OP, not sure why it's difficult for the BMs to pay $10 to try a sample dress? Of course they have to timely return it - they don't own it? If you don't return a rent the runway dress you get charged full price....

It's really not difficult. You're making it difficult. Azazie is literally the 2017 solution to having different size brides in different cities. You are choosing to create difficulty here.

Most dresses are less than $150 and are great quality. If you would like to try on a dress (since some people hate ordering online), you can pay $10 to try it on in your size (it just covers shipping). If you order your dress in standard sizing, you can return if it doesn't fit (can't always do that at DB). If you order custom size and it still needs alterations, they'll give you an alterations credit for your out of pocket alteration costs.

    Life cannot get easier OP.

I used Azazie because I have BMs all over the country as well! I figured it would be the easiest way to make sure all my ladies got a dress they liked, while still having the same color (even though we couldn't all go together.) I'm extremely happy with their gowns and their quality! Definitely recommend them.

As for the size issue. I know if you order the size and it doesn't fit, you can return it. I know a few of my BMs took advantage of the $10 try on dress.
