Avoiding Photography Cliches???

My fiance and I were talking about ideas for photos for our engagement session. We both agree that we dislike the really cliche photos (sorry to anyone if I offend!). Like photos where couple hold a sign that says "He stole my heart so I'm stealing his last name" or where the wedding date is written...

My fiance and I were talking about ideas for photos for our engagement session. We both agree that we dislike the really cliche photos (sorry to anyone if I offend!). Like photos where couple hold a sign that says "He stole my heart so I'm stealing his last name" or where the wedding date is written on the bottom of the shoe.

Does anyone else feel this way? If so what cliches do you dislike? Also what did you do in order to avoid cliches but still keep them interesting?

    I like you already. I hate the cliche stuff, and over posed photos. If the love, whimsical side, and fun, energy of the couple can't carry a photograph, someone's doing something wrong. That's one thing I love about being documentary style Smiley smile
