Ours were $350 and that was a little below average in price for our area. We didn't get a lot of prints and ones we did order were expensive. STD's were included so that was a plus.

We're getting married out of state, so we did engagement photos locally (Orlando area). Most quotes I received for an a la carte session were around around $495, which I thought was outrageous and really unfortunate since I loved their work! After a ton of research I was able to find a photographer that I absolutely adored for $275.

    $100-$300 seems average

Mine is a $200 value, but included in the wedding package we purchased. Our engagement shoot is unlimited time/outfit change/location. We get either the rights to the photos or an engagement album or you can purchase both for a little extra.

Edit for location: I'm in Northeast Ohio

Ours are $75 because we got a wedding package for $950. Otherwise they would have been $150

Ours was "free" with our wedding package, but I still had to pay $200 to receive printing rights.

I paid $350 for mine. It wasn't a part of the wedding package we selected with our photographer so we got it as an a la carte option. We live in a major metro area so that may make a difference in how much we paid versus other people here. Either way, I have no regrets about the cost. All of our photos were incredible and it was a great opportunity to get comfortable and build a relationship with our photographer before the wedding.

Ours is included in our package. But I think separately they charged $300-$800 depending on what you wanted. But it depends on your area also.

Our photographer had our engagement photos included in our wedding package, but we had to pay $500 in order to get the disc of all high resolution photos.

Location, location. As you might guess, pricing tends to be higher in major metro and affluent areas. But, take heart, you should be able to find a wide range of pricing and levels in most locations.

After talking to many of our photographers, average prices generally range from $100-$500 at the lowest end, $600 - $2,000 in the midrange, and $3,000 to $12,000 at the highest end. Brace yourself because comparing prices between photographers isn't at all straight forward - some include it in their wedding packages, others allow you to apply the cost to a print credit at your wedding, and some offer discounts on e-sessions when you sign on for your wedding. Some include prints, others don't. You get the idea. So, find out specifically what's included in each photographer's cost. for more information you can visit http://www.studiomemorylane.com/ i have had experience with them hope i have offered some help

So these prices yall mentioned, do these include an engagement reception? I know very few people do this but my fiancee ad I decided to have a reception and we were quoted 700$ for that and the couples shoot. Does that sound sane?

There are photographers that charge $100 and others that charge $1000. I don't think there is an average price for engagement photos. Ideally, the difference in the photos will be very noticeable.

A lot of photographers now include engagement pictures in their total wedding package price, and that will be your best deal by far! It's also a great opportunity to get to know your photographer before the wedding and get used to taking pictures Smiley smile

What would an average cost of engagement photos taken in the Dallas area, or the Allen area? What would be ideal for a total wedding package? Not looking for exact but just a rough estimate of where i'm looking at.
