August 17, 2019 Brides. One week away !!!

Yay, this week will fly by! What's left on your to do lists?

My wedding is the 17th too and I feel like I need to throw up 🤢😂

We are having an "emergency" wedding on the 17th so we can ensure FMIL is able to make it (terminal stage 4 cancer diagnosis) where we will be getting actually, legally married. We hope she makes it to November when we still plan to have our big, almost 2 years in the making "wedding" but are not willing to risk it. He is her baby boy and only son and I would never forgive myself is we didn't take advantage of the ability to make sure she is there. It will be small, 24 immediate family only, in FFIL/FMIL's back yard. This way she can be comfortable and have everything she needs should she start feeling unwell. It's been rough trying to plan this in 5 weeks and keep up with Novmeber stuff (invites are the big time consumer right now), but I think we have 95% of everything done at this point. The only thing I am struggling with is writing a letter to FMIL, letting her know that "its my turn to take care of him" etc without making it sad and about her own mortality. I had something perfectly written in a dream I had this morning and I even rehearsed it twice in my dream so I'd remember it... but then I woke up and forgot it. I legit woke up crying because I thought I had finally found the right words and then started crying because I had forgotten what they were! FH just kind of chuckled and reminded me that whatever I do write will be the perfect words, which didn't exactly help in my current excited/stressed/sad whirlwind of an emotional state lol

Not an August bride, but that is so exciting! That day is my bestfriends birthday!
