Attn: Fabric/veil gurus! What is morbido tulle and can I alter it?

Lexi, on February 13, 2014 at 2:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I recently purchased a veil from Pronovias. It is a very long, plain veil that is extremely soft. The fabric is labeled "morbido tulle" and it seems to fall just like silk tulle, with zero "poof", which I liked. It has a raw edge and is basically an extremely fine hexagonal mesh. I originally wanted a chapel length one that had a fingertip length blusher layer, but the only one they had available in that fabric was a cathedral length one with two layers of fabric. There is a lot of fabric, and I would like to have both layers shortened (the top layer becoming a blusher) Heck, I'd really love someone to remove it from the existing comb and make a drop style veil. Should I just take it to any wedding alterations place, even though the people I've asked haven't heard of this fabric? Suggestions are appreciated! Wedding is just under 2 months away, so not a lot of time. Photo attached, though you can't tell much, if anything.

Ohhhhh I have no idea. Can you take it to a seamstress or alteration shop and ask?

Apparently, morbido is Italian for soft, compliant. Guess that means your veil is not stiff.

So, you probably don't need to mention morbido when you contact seamstresses.
