Attaching Veil to Flower Crown

Elizabeth, on October 31, 2020 at 2:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 11

If I went for a look like this, how would I attach the veil to the flower crown?

I think you would just have to put the veil over your head ? I did a flower crown and veil and had a two tier veil so it was easy to put one tier Over my head hopefully I’m making sense. But also okay around with the look and you’ll figure it out Smiley smile

You can sew them. But as many like to take the veil off and leave the crown, you may want to attach the veil with clips, or clips you have adorned with beads or crystal. Findings, like notions for sewing, are the bead and craft clips, clasps, combs of hair jewelry. A few examples , as there are hundreds.

combs, bobby pins with decorations, alligator clips, multiclips, and look not only under hair accessories but bridal.

Ok, but how do keep it from sliding off once you lift it off of your face?

The thing is, I have shorter hair. I'm not sure that combs and things would work. Also, I think if you do that, it won't look like a drop veil so much.

You'd probably attach it to your hair instead of the flower crown. You could use pins (like the kind you'd use to attach a boutoniere but less sharp, or bobby pins that match your hair color) to keep it on once it's lifted and they would be almost invisible as you're walking down the aisle.

But, how would you keep it from looking gathered or puckered in anyplace?

Are you doing your own hair our having someone else do it? If someone is doing it for you they can do it without it bunching.

Every seamstress or hair dresser had their own way of doing things. I hate gooing up hair with globs of hair products to thicken hair to hold clips or combs in very short hair.

I am in this camp instead. you need 2--- 6 packs tiny alligator clips ( or one 30 pack) and a couple of fine haircombs with metal teeth. ( plastic will not hold fine hair.) And tiny elastics. Wherever they go, you are using tiny elastics like those for braces, to make a row of 3/4 inch or longer ponytails, in an arc. These will hold a metal comb firmly when pushed down into them, quite close to your scalp in very short hair. Or, you can make a ring of them a couple or inches apart under where the wreath goes. stitch clips which have holes, alligator clips, by had to the underside of the wreath and veil, and clip each to one of the tiny pony tail elastics in a ring in your short hair. This is a big picture, but the small alligator clips are thumbnail size, for hair use. Like tiny clothes pins. at the handles end, there is a hole or 2 drilled, for sewing thread or wire. This end gets sewn to the bottom of what you are holding, wreath with veil. and the tiny teeth are opened like a clothespin, pinch, and tiny teeth will clip to tiny elastic ponytail of hair you made earlier. Metal haircombs, tiny alligator clips, all with space to decorate with a bead or not, depending if you use it where it shows, are pictured in the fire mountain link above. You may just want to get clips and combs, and tiny elastics and give them to whoever hems or bustles your gown, to make. They are used to needle and thread and loops attachments. Taking the veil out, pinch and pull off the 3/8 inch elastics, and comb out tiny ponytails. , no heavy hair product to wash out.

I'm not sure. All that will need to be done is to curl my all around my head. I might get my mom to do it. The back is a little hard to do. I'm getting a haircut on Thursday. I could get it styled and take a picture afterwards to show what my hair would look like.
