Attaching bolero to dress?

K, on November 27, 2018 at 10:57 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I am clueless about alterations! I bought a minimalistic strapless dress online and want to buy an off shoulder long sleeve lace topper to go over it. Could a seamstress then attach the two so it’s all one dress? Will this be expensive to do? What should I expect to pay for something like this?

I don’t know how much it would cost. Those things vary by shop and location. Why not speak to a seamstress and inquire about the pricing?

Oh I definitely planned on contacting several local alteration servicers, was just wondering if it’s even possible/hoping to get any cost idea so I don’t sound like an idiot/get duped when I call lol. Oh well, I’ll just skip the online forum and start calling!

Yes this is doable and exactly what I'm doing. The actual attaching of the topper was not expensive, I don't know exactly how much because my alterations weren't itemized. Just make sure they don't attach the jacket so snugly you can't move your arms.

Hi K! A skilled seamstress would absolutely be able to do this for you! A seamstress at a bridal shop should also be able to do this for you and are used to making these types of alterations! As for the cost, it will really depend on the bolero you purchase, as well as the seamstress's rate! I would call around to your local seamstresses and ask for some quotes! Smiley kiss
