attaching a veil without a comb

francie, on March 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I have searched the internet and can't figure out the best way to secure my veil without attaching it to a comb.

My veil is long (about to my calves), one layer, and features handmade Belgian lace. It cost more than my dress, is meant to be an heirloom for future generations, and is the only souvenir I brought home from the three years I lived in Belgium (which is also where I met my fiance). Needless to say, I am nervous about the possibility of getting a rip or tear in it, or of messing it up in any way.

Does anyone else have a comb-less veil, and if so, how did you or are you planning to attach it?

Can you use bobby pins or straight pins? Or maybe some barrettes?

Talk to your hair stylist, even if she is not doing your hair for your wedding. She should have some advice for you on what to do. Bobby pins would be my suggestion

I would suggest having a perosn you trust sewing a comb on to it.

    OR

(please dont think I am crazy) Elmers glue..It is washable so will come out of your hair and the veil. Using this will not cause punctures that boby pins may. If you feel that it needs more help HAIR PINS are great anchors and are smaller that bobby pins so would essentially cause less damage.

And if it is long you may want to use invisible tape or safety pins to cling to your dress so that would be the impact place if it were to snag on something.
