I mean if he wanted he could do a proposal box like brides do for bm's. he could do a label on a bottle of whiskey similar to wine bottles or a label on a cigar

I think I saw one on Pinterest where it's a bottle of booze and the label asks will you be my best man

I think my FH will be asking face to face.. but afterwards once he knows they have agreed he will gift them with a bottle of alcohol with the custom label like @Blair Waldorf suggested.

My FH's brother engraved a baseball bat asking him to be his best man. They have miniature versions for ~20 a piece (not sure how much more engraving is).

My FH has also been in a wedding where the groomsmen got a card that said I [mustache sticker] you to be in my wedding. The sticker was fuzzy and removable/wearable.

I have also seen on Pinterest where the groom makes a box and fills it with booze and manly items with a note that says will you be my groomsman? The best part was on lid of the box it said "my future wife made me do this".

My FH ordered cards from Etsy. There are some pretty funny/vulgar ones but also normal, nice ones depending on their relationship!

Pinterest or etsy has good ideas. I've seen some where they give their friend a bottle of alcohol or send a funny card. My FH text his groomsmen or asked them while on Skype playing wow. Nerds. ;-)

My FH did this today! He made it on word instead of paying $15 per label. I just asked my bridesmaids but he wanted to do something semi special. His brother got him a flask that was personalized with his brothers name and his FW .. a little over the top and he doesn't even drink liquor. I say keep it simple. You don't have to spend a ton!

If they like liquor look on Etsy for personalized flasks.. you could do their initials or it could say groomsman. I've bought a personalized flask for my FH on Etsy and he loved it. There are some under $20 each.
