Asking for wedding time off from a new job?

So I did a phone interview on Monday and was chosen for an in-person interview for next week. How should I mention that I would need time off next October. Depending when I start I will be there for 1 year but not sure how their time off/vacation time works.

I started my new job 9/03/2013 and I was married 10/12/2013. I didn't mention anything about my wedding until they offered me the job and I accepted and then after I formally accepted the position I mentioned I was getting married and I would need time off for the wedding.

I wouldn't say anything to them until you have officially accepted the position. It will be time off with out pay I am sure but that is ok.

Edited: I put 14 instead of 13 and then I read your not getting married until next October by then you will have vacation time and everyone you work with will know you planning a wedding... No need to tell them in your interview process or right away.

Gosh One year is plenty of time! I am starting my new job sept 8 and I'm getting married oct 5! I'm not allowed to take PTO before my 90 days, but when I interviewed I told them I was getting married soon and I would need a week off for my honeymoon, but they said they would work with it. I told them I have a very flexible schedule other than the wedding time. If your wedding is a year away, I wouldn't even mention it

Your wedding is still very far away. I would just take the job and wait till my 90 days are up and then mention that you need to talk about vacation because your wedding is next year October. I would wait till December and then bring it up, bad idea to do it now.

We hired someone recently who told us he was getting married after we offered him the job. It was not a problem. I am contemplating a new job that will materialize early next year. My wedding is next September. If that job materializes I plan to tell them after I get the offer for sure.

Just an update: I was one of the top three candidates that went in for an in-person interview and I was just called in for the final interview this Thursday!!! Hopefully, I should hear something by mid next week. Fingers crossed.
