Dedicated December 2021

Asking for reduced minimum.

Happilee, on July 9, 2019 at 6:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 15
We are about to sign a contract on my dream venue! However, when we first made contact we were led to believe that our date in April would count as the off-season cost (this is documented in an email). When we toured the venue, we were told that April is actually the beginning of the wedding season but they could meet us halfway ($5,000 less instead of the initially communicated $10,000 price difference).

Is it too late to ask for them to give us the lowest minimum? We haven't signed yet and only just put a hold on the date.

I would definitely ask! Provide the email for reference. The worst they can say is no!

I would absolutely share the enamel and ask. The worst they can do is say no but with it on writing it may really help you. Good luck!

Go ahead and ask. It’ll likely come down to how confident the venue is that they can book another couple at full price. It seems like they want to book you for offering the initial discount, but if another couple comes in interested in your date...

You don’t get what you don’t ask for! They might say no (especially if they think they can get the full rate from another couple) but you’ll never know if you don’t try.

We were concerned about someone else wanting the date but it's off-season so maybe that helped? They said yes! We are beyond excited and Im feeling rather proud of myself.
