Asking for new invitations bc of covid

Hello! I ordered invitations back in February for my wedding which was supposed to happen later on this year. Because of covid, we had to postpone. I contacted the retailer about ordering new invites and they said they could offer 50% discount to reorder. Is this fair or should I push for more? The retailer is based in Asia and not your typical minted or Shutterfly whose customer service would be more understanding I imagine. Thoughts?

    Your invites have already been printed? and you wanted to reorder newly printed ones?

    if that's the case then i think it's nice of them to even give you 50% discount.

    Yes I was super early with ordering and planning and then covid happened and so my printed invites are no longer relevant

    That seems very generous to me. They are incurring real expenses to reprint everything.

    I agree with Melle. While it's definitely a crummy situation all around, if they fulfilled the order without any errors on their part, then there is really no reason for them to lose money based on a date change. It's nice of them to offer a 50% discount since they technically don't need to do anything at all.

    I think the fact they’re giving you 50% off is huge. Re-printing invites is your request and not due to them making a mistake or something.

    50% is so generous. It would be rude to ask for more. They are a business and already did the work the first round. I haven't received more than a 10% discount on anything I have had to reprint.

    I agree with all PP's. The fact that you received your original order, and your reorder request is at no fault of the company, they technically don't have to offer you any sort of discount. I would be grateful they are offering you the 50% off.

    I don't really understand your comment about Asia and understanding customer service, but I think a 50% discount on brand new invitations is MORE THAN fair. Are you saying you should get them even cheaper? Free?

    50% is a great discount, I don’t think places like Minted and Shutterfly are offering that much and definitely not more than 50% off.

    Take it. My wedding was canceled 3 weeks before due to COVID. Our vendor is only giving us 20% discount to reorder invitations.

    I think 50% is really good. I was able to get 75% from Minted, but from the sounds of everyone else, I'm the exception, not the rule.
