Aruba-honeymoon?

Katie, on January 1, 2020 at 11:56 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 7
Hi all. I’m getting married October 2020 and we’re considering Aruba for our honeymoon. I’ve been but my fiancé hasn’t. Please share any and all Aruba honeymoon experiences. I need resort recommendations. I prefer all inclusive but am open to resorts that are not.
Thanks !

Sandals are all inclusive but not in Aruba. They are throughout the Caribbean though.

I would not recommend all inclusive for Aruba. Way too many great restaurants around the island you’ll want to try! We stayed at the Renaissance in downtown Oranjestad which was nice but I wouldn’t stay there again. I would recommend Palm Beach or Eagle Beach area resorts.

Thanks! Yeah I hear you about the great food! We would still venture out for dinners, though. I wanted the all inclusive for the drinks and breakfast and lunch mostly. I think it works out to be worth it. I will definitely look into Palm beach and eagle beach!

Hi! I have been to Aruba twice but I stayed on the local side of the island for mission trips. Aruba is a very safe island- the main crime is petty theft. Branch out on their food- it’s so delicious! Fried plantains are one of my favorite (they look like bananas but they aren’t lol). Most of the tourist stuff is on the south side of the island, but Baby Beach is more north and that is a great place to go to! There’s also a rock cliff face (but not like a 90 degree cliff) in the north side that’s really fun to explore! The Aloe plant is also a pretty cool thing to go see but that only takes like 2 hours. I highly recommend exploring the island if you can. There’s so many great local places to eat if you get out of the tourist part!

We just got back from our honeymoon to Aruba! We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Palm Beach, and it was wonderful! It is not all-inclusive, but as others have mentioned, there are not many AI in Aruba due to the many restaurants and safety of the island. We spent the vast majority of the week lying on the beach or by the pool, but we did rent a Jeep one day and explored which was fun.

One of our favorite meals was at a restaurant called Atardi on the beach in front of the Marriott Resort. If you stay at the Holiday Inn, you can just walk down the beach! It was really cool sitting with your feet in the sand just feet from the ocean.
