Aruba anyone?

Meet_The_Clarks, on January 25, 2017 at 6:46 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11

Has anyone been to Aruba for their honeymoon or in general? FH actually suggested it and since he has let me basically do whatever I've wanted for the wedding, I feel like this is where we should go.

Is all inclusive the best route money wise? Any websites we can check out or should we use a travel agent? Is there a better time to go during the year? Any advice would be helpful. We are looking now to see how much it would run us. Thanks all!

I haven't been but this is my dream hm.

I do recommend using a travel agent and taking advantage of any all inclusives, you're going to get the most bang for your buck there. And I think I read the best time is april-June. But I could be wrong there! I literally just googled best time to visit Aruba

We used a family members time share in Aruba and it was beautiful! We found there wasn't a ton to do but if you are able sit on the beach it will be great. I cant so I went a little stir crazy.

The food was fairly expensive. I would compare the different routes and see what works best for you

Great, thanks! I've been doing google searches but there is so much info lol. I'll wait till we are a year out and contact a travel agent that a friend used. I'm all about laying on the beach everyday and drinking a margarita. Hmm.. research to be had!

I've been to Aruba about 6 times. There aren't many all inclusive hotels on the island. The only one I stayed at was the Occidental and it was good but for me the only benefit of it is the included drinks. There are so many amazing restaurants on the strip that are AMAZING I feel like you miss out if you only eat on resort.

I'm gonna have to disagree that there is nothing to do. I've been off roading, parasailing, to their zoo, to the ostrich farm, into downtown for the market, snorkeling on a catamaran and much more.

Aruba is a gorgeous island and the people who live there are so friendly. I couldn't recommend it more.

Been there 3 years ago. Stayed at the divi all inclusive. Best beach I've ever seen. Best weather, doesn't rain. It's a dry island.

I prefer all inclusives because I hate having to be showered and cleaned and finding a place/way to get to a place to eat my meals.

Wth that said, the locals are so incredibly nice. There's plenty of stuff in town to eat and see and do. I don't think getting a non all inclusive would be a hassle when it comes to your meals.

ETA: we did a jeep island tour to the natural pool (must do!) a snorkel catamaran tour and a sunset cruise. Spent a day in town.

If we went back I'd do the drunk bus bar tour! Looked so fun. There is plenty to do, but it is definitely a small island. Saw the whole thing basically in 4-5 hours.

I used my parent's timeshare in Aruba for vacation last year! It is actually where FH and I got engaged so it holds a special place in my heart! Smiley smile

Aruba is a beautiful small island with so much character! I personally think there is a ton of stuff to do!! The weather is gorgeous all year around! It rarely rains and the humidity is low compared to what I'm used to in the south!

We went for Memorial Day this past year and stayed at the Marriott Stellaris.

If you do anything in Aruba, go to Madame Jeanette's for dinner one night. Amazing food, atmosphere, everything. Book way in advance - I made our reservation 3 months in advance and options were still limited.

We LOVE Aruba. The locals are amazing. Get this- on our last day my fiancé left his phone in a cab. They don't have Uber there so no way to track a cab driver down. We walked back to the hotel and described the cab to the taxi guys at the Marriott (the cabs are all different style cars.) We had two taxi workers at the hotel trying to track the guy down AND other drivers who were there offering to flag the driver down. It's a very small island so they all know each other. The driver came back to the hotel on his own after realizing FH left his phone. We practically had to force the people who helped us to take our money we insisted on giving them. The cab driver said "in Aruba, you'll always get it back." Seriously, the nicest locals there.
