Artificial Flowers

FutureSmiths, on February 17, 2016 at 2:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 35

Is anyone planning on using them? I'm on the fence about them. A co-worker used them for her wedding and they were gorgeous.

I'm using them. A friend of my mom's worked at a florist several years ago so we bought the flowers at Michael's and she put them together for us. I think they turned out great!

*The ribbon is actually grey but it looks green.

I think I'll use real flowers for my bouquet but fake for everything else. That's pretty common as far as I know. That way you get the best of both worlds!

I'm using fake ones. I'm doing this pretty much on my own with an almost non existent budget so I need everything ready to go!

Those are beautiful! You can't tell they are artificial. I'm thinking of using artificial for everything except the bouquets.

I'm using silk flowers. I bought my BM bouquets off of aFloral for $11 each. I also made comic book roses that I arranged into the pre-made bouquets and wrapped the stems myself. Those don't look completely real, but they definitely look great for $11/each. We're also using fake greenery and baby's breath for centerpieces.

I also had my bouquet custom made from a florist off of Etsy, I love it, but it wasn't much cheaper than a real one would have been. I do get to keep it without it perishing, however, and it actually looks 100% real. I love it and am glad I went that route for mine, but that route won't necessarily save you a ton of money.

ETA: Because WW still insists on trying to post photos sideways

Honestly, you can always tell when they are artificial flowers - even the good ones. Really price it out, because the good ones might be as much as real flowers! I personally would never consider using artificial flowers.

I think this personal preference and budget. I personally chose to use real. I am not a fan of fake flowers.

Done well, artificial flowers can look amazing. I've shown photos of my bouquets to several people and they were amazed. I'm doing sola flowers, and they are so surprised when they feel them!

Please do!!!! Those are so pretty and if I can find some to use for our centerpieces I would die of happiness! We are looking to do more metallic on our silver and navy blue, and I just felt like the flowers were too soft for that.

My sister (MOH) and I are going to use artificial but I don't mind spending more than just from Wal-Mart. Hobby Lobby has AMAZING silk flowers that I have used for flower arrangements to decorate with and they look just as nice.

I think it depends on your budget. I know I can do fake and make them look good because I took a class in high school! You can also make flowers from ribbon but once again it's best to know what you are doing. Most of the money spent on any flowers is having someone make the arrangement for you. You can buy real flowers wholesale and make the arrangements that way too

I bought my bouquet off etsy and I'm doing real flowers for bridesmaids and centerpieces, I love that I'll be able to keep the bouquet forever.
