Hello Brides!
I'm planning an outdoor wedding at a beautiful historical venue. The space that we booked is almost entirely constructed of hand-carved cement, even the pavers. I reached out to the rental company about the possibility of renting a dancefloor (they are the only company I am allowed to use at the venue) and they said that they don't recommend it. The pavers are apparently too uneven to use a dancefloor with, and they said that when they've done so in the past it simply became a tripping hazard. I'm happy about saving money on not renting a dancefloor, but I still want to try and even surface so that it can be friendlier to dancing. I'm considering using a large rug to cover the area, smoothing it out and defining the space.
Has anyone used, or experienced, a rug in a situation like this before? Did you use a plastic woven outdoor rug, or something else that was flat-woven? Any recommendations that would prevent the rugs from moving? I don't think we would be able to tape it down, as it might damage the historical pavers. Maybe a rug mat would be enough, but I'm not sure.
An image of the floor is attached for reference (they look more uneven in the photo, which is from a google 360). Thanks for your advice!
