Are you incorporating your pet in the ceremony?

Emily, on April 15, 2020 at 8:35 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17
We have a rescue named Charlie who is our literal life. We do not have kids so we treat him like royalty. How is anyone else incorporating their pet in the ceremony? Our ceremony is outside so we can have him there but our venue said he can’t go inside for obvious reasons that we totally understand. My fiancé lives 10 minutes from our venue and he’s going to spend the weekend there. I was going to have him carry the rings down the aisle with my cousins that’s too young to be a bridesmaid but i want to include her. Are you incorporating your pet in the ceremony? 1

We plan to! Our pup is going to be our ring bearer. Couldn't see my wedding without my pup ❤️

This is something me and my FH have been debating as well. Our fur baby is our pride and joy but she wouldn't be allowed in the reception space and we live 1 hour and 30 minutes away from our venue so we would have to board her (which I'm not a fan of). But since you live so close and you can drop your fur baby off I definitely recommend including Charlie! If we lived closer Ellie would 100% be in our wedding!

Also give Charlie some belly rubs for me, he looks like the goodest boy ever!

We won’t be able to have our pets in the ceremony (plus one of our pups is much too crazy for that, he would be a mess!) but we are planning to have pictures done with them either before or after the ceremony! We will be boarding in the town we get married in since ours is a DW in alabama (we would’ve had to board them in IN anyway). I prefer to board them in the same town we’re staying instead of >8 hours away in case something happens so I can be right there Smiley smile

I so want to. But our dog is a bit hyper and crazy; he is also a mama's boy so we are afraid he would jump all over me and possibly ruin my dress. So it's for the best that he stay home for the wedding. I need to find a pet sitter lol

I wish mine were calm enough to be there but they are still young, so I made cardboard cut outs of them both to sit next to our sweetheart table.

We wanted to include both of our pups in our ceremony, but thought it maybe more of a hassle. So, we ended up doing photos with them right after our first look! The photos turned out so great (they are some of our favorites!) and ended up being a good compromise as a way to include them.

Such a cute idea!! I wish we could have our babies there with us, but they'll be there in spirit! I ordered socks for the groomsmen with their faces on them to incorporate them in a fun way!

My pup was our "petal security" after she greeted everyone. We hid a busy bone in the flower girls basket so the pup was focused, had a cute collar and leash, gave the bone to her during the ceremony(along with new dog puzzle), then after pics she went with our pet sitter( she is also our awsome vet tech) to the park then home, who was there all day before this (well everyone was getting ready) to let the pup out, make sure it had food/water, ect. Now to be fair she is a 8 yr old ausie shepherd who has been to every family party, so old enough to be calm and smart enough to know how to behave for a price.
