Are you having your wedding shower and wedding themes match?

Sammie, on July 29, 2017 at 11:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

My MOH and BM's are throwing a coed wedding shower and they're planning a bbq typed theme; a rustic look, which will be at my parent's backyard (they have huge land). Which I think is a great idea. But my wedding is going to be at a vineyard and more of a elegant look.

Did your bridal party/wedding shower and wedding themes match up? I'm personally fine with both of these but I don't want to look like a mosh posh of ideas.

No one will even notice. It sounds fine as planned. You're overthinking it.

I have no idea what mine are planning, but a friend of ours had hers under the sea themed because they went on a cruise for their honeymoon. It had nothing to do with the wedding.

My bridal shower was a total surprise and out of pure serendipity, they were matching. My FH and I absolutely love tea and coffee so my BMs threw a "tea with the bride to be" shower and my wedding will be a vintage/boho theme with teapots and teacups as the centerpieces. I loved that they matched because the stationary has a relatively cohesive look (I'm making a shadow box after the wedding of this stuff). Otherwise, I don't think they need to match or that anyone would notice.

The bride should stay out of the shower planning. If that means a different theme, so be it. The hosts are entitled to decorate as they see fit.

    We really didn't have themes.

My bridal party hosted a shower that served a traditional British tea, at a private country club.

My in-laws hosted a very casual rehearsal picnic, in their backyard.

    My parents hosted a black-tie wedding/reception, at a historic, 5 star hotel.
