Are You Having An Unplugged Wedding Ceremony?

With ringtones and guest paparazzi, the idea of an “unplugged wedding ceremony" is on the rise. Have you considered asking guests to put their phones away during your ceremony? Who is having an unplugged wedding? Photo by Bethany Carlson Photography

    Good point!

Yes... I also feel that it's a sticky situation if the first photos released on social media of the couple from their wedding day don't come from the wedded couple.

This is a great idea for guests who have children & babysitters for the night! Thank you for sharing!

We are doing this..announcing via website, officiant & sign. They are free to do whatever before/after the ceremony. Too many of my friends/family record/take pics & I don’t want them in the way of our pics.

Yes, we are. After we are pronounced Mr and Mrs at the alter, they may take out their phones but have to respect our privacy in we ask they do not post photos of us to social media.

100% yes on this. I know my friends and family and if we don't have an unplugged ceremony then we're going to have people getting up trying to get that "Instagram worthy" shot. My DOC is 100% on board with walking up to people and telling them to put their devices away; so I hope that the sign saying it's an unplugged ceremony, as well as the announcement, AND my DOC patrolling will make sure that people don't get in my photographer's way!

I will be, because lately I have seen people on Live at other people's wedding during the whole ceremony and I just don't want to take that chance. Also my cousin had an unplugged wedding and during the time the bridesmaids walk in one of them fell and no one but the people at the ceremony saw what happened, there aren't any videos or photos going viral. And I like that.
