Are there other stores besides David's Bridal that Aren't online for Bridesmaid dresses?

Emily, on December 21, 2018 at 12:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

The thing I love about David's Bridal is that it's SO affordable and I do not want my bridal party to stress over spending a lot of money on their dresses. However, and I have no evidence to back this up aside from a coworker mentioning to me, apparently they are filing bankruptcy? Whether or not it is true, I want to get ahead and find out what other stores you guys recommend that aren't just independent, one stop shops.

My problem with online stores is that the one wedding I was in that we ordered the dresses online, everyone had to spend so much to get them all altered because you couldn't try them on, so for the ease of worrying about measuring themselves and all I'd like to find a store with a retail location.

Why not try Azazie? It’s online but you can try on at home for $10.

Azazie was actually the site we used for my friend's wedding. I just personally don't want to inconvenience my bridal party to have to deal with shipping back and forth.

Brideside is who I’m having my girls use! Similar to Azazie in that they have a try at home program, but they also have a few retail locations if you’re nearby (Chicago, Charlotte & NYC). My girls live all over - 3 went to the NYC showroom, 2 went to the Charlotte showroom, and 1 got the try at home box.

We’re having a great experience with them!

Azazie is cheaper than David's bridal. My bridesmaids used them and loved it. I mean if the mailing back and forth wasn't that bad. It's $10 and you just take it to a fedex store. After the girls did a try on where we were all together I decided to take the dresses back to Fedex so the girls weren't inconvenienced.

My girls did Azazie custom sizing and needed no alterations. But as far as David’s Bridal they are just restructuring their debt not closing. Bankruptcy doesn’t always mean they are shutting down.

I got my dress, my moms dress and my moh’s dress from David’s bridal after they declared bankruptcy and all three dresses came in fine! Like Kelly said they are just restructuring debt not closing their doors!

They don't have to be called bridesmaids dresses for your bridesmaids to wear them. You can find cute dresses at department stores like Macy's or Nordstrom.

But if you've found dresses like DB that you like, go with them. They are filing bankruptcy (you can find details with a simple Google search,) but they are not shutting down.

The store I got my dress from offered 25% off each bridesmaid dress so my girls only ended up paying 160/each with dresses originally being over 200$... and I agree with the above stating Nordstrom.. they carry bridesmaid dresses online and if you have one local to you they do tailoring at a discount !( free if your a Nordstrom card holder Smiley winking )

I thought I was going to stay away from David's Bridal for my bridesmaids, because I made the assumption that the dresses would be more expensive. But after researching Macy's, Nordstrom, and a few other department-type stores, I found that DB was less expensive, they are always having sales/deals, and because they have so many locations all over the country, it's super easy to outfit all your ladies, even if they live in other states!!! So, I'm going to go with DB, because they make it so easy! My sister lives in Idaho, so obviously can't go dress shopping with the rest of us in California. But she has a DB store just around the corner from her office. So, I sent her links to the styles I was looking at, and she was able to go in person to the store in Idaho, and try them on! We've created one account for all the BM dresses, so everyone can pay online, and the whole order is together in one place. Perfect!!

We went through different bridal shops. We looked at the one where I got my dress and my sister ordered from there.
I gave My friend, who is out of state, the designer and style number and she found a shop near here that carried it! It worked great!

One wedding I was in we got our dresses from Macy's. You can really try any department store and should be able to find something affordable.

Hi Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s havre plethora of beautiful dresses. Also if you’re in the area of Miami FL or Davie FlorIda there’s a boutique called Dresses for me https://www.dressesfourme.com/sub.php?sStyle=&Page=Search&CatId=50219&priceRange=&sType=sStyle&Page=Search&colorNarrowChk=1&colorNarrow=gray&submitbtn=Update+Results. Here’s the link. My daughter has used this vender for years for prom dresses, However, they have bridesmaids dresses as well. Hope this helps and hood luck.
