Are Sunflowers too rustic?

Lisa Marie, on November 3, 2019 at 4:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11
FH and I have been going back and forth on the color of teal we want our reception to be. Last night we decided on Tiffany Blue rather than a darker shade we originally planned. We both really like the color so it makes the most sense and its what we thought about the day we booked our venue.

Since we originally thought to use a darker teal, sunflowers would have looked great with it and would have tied our 'Italy/Tuscan' theme together. Now that we are using Tiffany Blue; I am wondering if the sunflowers are too rustic. We aren't going for a rustic theme and are probably going more towards a classic wedding rather than a Italy/Tuscan theme.

Are sunflowers too rustic? We want to incorporate yellow flowers to honor his late grandmother, so maybe yellow roses and white hydrangeas?

What type of flower and flower color do you think fits best with Tiffany Blue?

Sunflowers scream rustic to me. So much so that they used to be my favorite flower and Pinterest has ruined it for me. For such a bold color, I would stick with white flowers and greenery; roses, peonies, ranunculus, lily of the valley.

Me too! Everyone uses them and when I search yellow centerpieces its majority sunflowers. I'm leaning towards mostly white and greenery with some pale yellow 'something'.

Personally I don’t think they are too rustic. I got married on the beach and had sunflowers and blue hydrangeas. I say do what you want.

I think it depends on how you use them. They are frequently used for rustic themes, but if you mix them in with softer details they can work with other themes.

Sunflowers are very rustic but yellow baby's breath is a thing! Maybe mostly white roses with white and yellow baby's breath and lots of greenery?

They are very rustic in my opinion. Are you having a florist? If you have one you could try talking to them because they give you amazing tips and ideas and flowers you might didn’t think about.
