Are cake tastings free?

They should be complimentary but it does vary. For example- if you are going through a neighborhood bakery, no charge, but if you are going through a higher end hotel or restaurant, there may be a fee involved since they have to make the cakes especially for your tasting.

Some that I've set up have been free. One bakery had a $25 fee. Just depends.

Some bakers have a tasting open to the public on a walk in basis 2x/yr. These are typically free. If you call for an independent/private tasting I would expect to pay.

I would call your top 3 choices and ask.

Our fee was waived due to them being vendors through our venue. If we didn't have that particular venue the tasting fee would be $25pp

I had cake tasking appointments with two bakeries. One was $25 and the other was $30.

Depends on the baker , many tastings are free if you book with the baker . So say the tasting is 30 dollars and you book that baker . They will deduct the 30 dollars from your balance .
