Are bridal shows/expos a waste of time?

I discovered 3 expos/shows in January within an hour from me. Is it worth going or are they generally a waste of time?

For me, it was the most fun and helpful thing I did at the beginning of my planning. My mom, my 3 BMs and I went and had a blast. We tried a sample from every caterer there and tasted a ton of cake. I had not booked anything except my venue and it really helped me narrow my research since a bunch of vendors were already booked for my date. We also got a great discount from Men's Wearhouse by scheduling an appointment at the show.

I'm going to one on the 8th and actually pretty excited. My rental company actually told me to wait till the event to book my stuff because they will be running a special. I also need vintage decor rentals, a florist, and caterer so I'm pretty excited for the two in january

I found a couple of my vendors at the expo I attended. 3 might be overkill though. Also, be sure to look for deals. The one in Austin had free entry for the bride if you texted a phone number or something.

I went to my first one a couple months ago and had soooo much fun. From trying foods, to looking at different vendors I felt more prepared for what I actually needed. Also I found my wedding photographer there. The one I attended gave out prizes during their wedding dress fashion show (I hated all the dresses but the music was awesome) lol

While I was in the really early stages of planning my mom and I went to get ideas and pricing for vendors we weren't sure about. But I'll be honest, I mostly went for the free food and cake samples.

I was a freshly graduated college student. Free food is free food!

You should go its actually a fun thing to do if you havent booked your vendors. I actually went the same day I booked my venue. I would suggest that you try to use a different email when you go if not your personal email will be full wedding vendors that was the annoying part for me.

If you haven't already found your vendors, they can be great. But be prepared for a lot of follow up calls and emails.

In fact, I'd really really recommend signing up for an email separate from your personal account, just for wedding stuff.

When we were looking for a venue, we went to one at a local place and ended up booking that venue. It was helpful to see the ballroom set for a wedding. Also, there was free champagne and food, which was a bonus.

We went to a bridal fayre at the hotel we're getting married in. Our decor lady was showing there and she set up a table with everything i wanted so i could see it all together. It really helped me to visualize it and know it is what i want! We went to one at a different hotel as the cake lady i was interested in was going to be there. We had a good chat and ended up booking her

I don't think they are worthwhile unless you are at the very beginning of your planning stages.
