Are Barbeque and pasta stations tacky/overdone?

A.Magill.Since.May, on March 23, 2017 at 10:35 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 23

I am having a May traditional church wedding with an afternoon reception in the church hall. We're planning on it being a laid back lunch beer and wine reception.

The last wedding I went to bad bbq and it was amazing and very well received by everyone. The key is making sure it is delicious. I guess you'll have to do lots of taste testing Smiley winking

I love bbq and pasta. And I love stations - you can take however much you want!

Sounds yummy! I would suggest, just making sure you aren't having a "black tie" wedding and then asking your guests to eat food that drips bbq sauce. Make sure everything matches. If it's BBQ, not saying you have to have a picnic but maybe business causal attire versus elegant gowns and tuxedos. Sounds delish though and would for sure be happy as a guest as long as it tasted great!

I like BBQ. I don't like pasta. I always think of pasta as cheap and full of carbs.

They don't really go well together, but I think either one would be fine.

Yes great idea, delicious and easily covers a lot of people's food preferences e.g. vegetarian, no carbs/gluten, worried about barbecue food etc. etc.

I Love BBQ! but not at wedding- so many chances for mess, and we have children at the wedding.

We are having a pasta bar at my bridal shower- we are also making blood orange/blackberry/feta cheese salad and bread.

Have you seenthe avacodo mac and cheese? http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/stovetop-avocado-mac-and-cheese/
