Out of curiosity, for April/May brides, are you planning to require your guests to wear masks? And what other Covid precautions are you taking?

I'm in June, but my reception is outside so I'm not requiring masks. People with concerns will have ample space to distance and tables will be 6 ft apart. All the guests who want the vaccine have an appointment or have the vaccine already, and many have already had covid. I laid this all out clearly on my website so people could make their own decision about coming. Honestly if someone gets covid at my wedding, oh well. We can't live in fear forever.

As a guest, I will be attending an outdoor wedding/reception in April in CA.. The website indicated there will be social distancing/sanitizer, masks optional.

Nope! We are having a rather intimate wedding with only 40 guests and it is a private indoor/outdoor venue so there is tons of space. People can do what they are comfortable with but I don’t think anyone will wear masks

We are asking our guests to follow the city rules, whatever they are in May. I assume the venue staff will monitor and enforce it. Currently I believe masking is required, but perhaps not when seated. The rules are slowly loosening, but I don't have any belief that masking will go away by our date. We have an indoor venue (we postponed from last July where we picked this specific venue just because it was indoor with lots of air conditioning - it's pretty ironic that having an all indoor venue is now to our detriment). We are going to make the best of it!

The church we are getting married in requires guests to wear masks, but our reception is outdoors and I made sure the city mandate didn't apply there. Would have postponed the wedding if it did.

We are giving out sanitizer and spacing the tables as we can, and the church is pretty large as well.

I’m going to a wedding in April and there wedding website says we have to wear masks in hallways (to get to different rooms) but other then that there optional. And my wedding is in September and my venue told me we can do what we’re comfortable with so I’m leaving it up to what the guests are comfortable with.

4/3/21 bride here- we’re not requiring guests to wear masks, they’re optional. Our wedding is outside with tut reception inside. I hit Bath & Body Works’ sale on mini hand sanitizers & they will be on all the tables. The majority of our family & friends have been vaccinated (including us).

I would look at your state/county/city guidelines for the place your venue is and follow those. You don't want to get your venue in trouble for not following the rules they have to follow!

June 4th so pretty close with May. We have moved the wedding completely outdoors. It was originally going to just be the ceremony outdoors and since we didn’t have the upgrade package the cocktail would be indoors but not ceremony, cocktail and reception will be outdoors. Socially distanced ceremony seating by households same for cocktail and reception. Not bothering with dancing since the rules around it are impossible to uphold. Providing personalized masks, and sanitizers, masks holders/protectors, wine glass name labels. Plated dinner. And proof of neg covid test or vaccine is required in my state.

We are not requiring guests to wear masks. Hopefully our reception will be outdoors. We are having a larger wedding but have made it clear that everyone has to make the best decision for themselves/their family whether they feel safe attending or not.

We will not! There will be about 150 guests attending and guests who want to wear one can, but we will not ask anyone too. There will still be lots of dancing and our ceremony is outside and the reception in an open barn.

Sadly, our wedding in May is in the state of VA who has classified it as a social gathering and won't budge on opening those numbers so we are playing everything by ear daily. We will quite possibly have to move it another year if he continues this path. Hard to plan and invite people to something when he only gives an update monthly so in May we will know if we can have a wedding.

But for the sake of this conversation. We plan to take all precautions. Asking for people to take a test 1 week prior if able to ensure comfortability, we created a form to fill out as well for tracing, mask will also be highly recommended unless eating, 6 to a table.
We want to have fun with our loved ones abide by the state rules as well as have fun.

Absolutely not. Luckily we’re getting married in a place that agrees with us. Ceremony and reception will be outside in SWFL- even if it was inside, I would not “require” this. Everyone is more than welcome to wear one if they so choose.. which likely most will not.

We have been back and forth on what we are doing. We have decided to have a 50 person wedding and it is indoors. They do require masks if you’re not seated unfortunately

Our wedding is 100% outside, so we are not requiring or asking guests to wear them. They can if they want, but we are not asking them too.
