April Fool's Day Wedding??

So the date that I wanted(4/8/17) is not available at the venue that I just fell in love with. Looking for another venue is not an option. This place is perfect. Every Sat in Apr/ May/ June is already booked, except for April 1st!! Fridays are also not an option. Sundays kind of don't give us enough...

So the date that I wanted(4/8/17) is not available at the venue that I just fell in love with. Looking for another venue is not an option. This place is perfect. Every Sat in Apr/ May/ June is already booked, except for April 1st!! Fridays are also not an option. Sundays kind of don't give us enough time to prep/setup/decorate b/c there are Weddings on Saturday. I don't wanna get married on April Fool's Day! I think I'll always regret it if I do, but then again I think I'm making a big deal about nothing. What do y'all think? Would you?

    Over the years, I've married several couples on April 1st. I figure they must both have a good sense of humor!

    Why do you have to get married in April, May, or June? Have you checked March dates? What about July or August? Could you have an autumn or winter wedding? Alternatively, you can wait a year and get married in 2018.

    I had the same issue and all other Saturdays at the venue were taken. But we still don't want a April fools wedding so... we booked April 2, which is a Sunday.

    I'm getting married on April 1st. We are not having an "April Fool's" themed wedding...no jokes involved.

    If it makes you feel any better, the "fool" part of that day is because April 1st used to be the first day of the new year. Then they switched the calender to make it January 1st....but some people still celebrated in April, so they were called fools for it.

    We also wanted 4/8/17! We considered 4/1/17 and FH had the same idea @AlmostPrang had with putting "It's no joke, were really getting married" on the STDs. It really wouldn't have been a big deal but we ultimately ended up going with 4/22.

    I know someone getting married on April 1. It's not a big deal. It's not like getting married around a major holiday where your guests may have plans. I love AlmostPrang's STD idea too!
