April Brides of 2022

My wedding is at the end of April and we just sent out our invitations today! Starting to get pretty excited. I’m going to try on my next after alterations next week, then my hair and makeup trials are the week after that. I think I’ll be even more excited then. Not much is left other than details like signage and some random things I’ll be ordering from Etsy soon. Excited that after postponing a year it’s finally happening!

April 23 here! I feel like we are right on track! Here’s our to do list:

February

-Start premarital counseling

-Brainstorm cocktail/dinner/reception music

-Book honeymoon

-Send wedding invites

-Finalize ceremony schedule

-Order/print signage

-Order cocktail tablecloths

-First bridal fitting (2/23)

-Schedule bridesmaids and flower girl alterations, if not already done

-Order groomsmen’s suits/accessories, if not already done

-Ask groomsmen to make announcements/MC

-Finalize day of timeline

March

-Confirm order with florist

-Confirm order with bakery

-Bridal Shower (3/20)

-Second bridal fitting

-Finalize toasts

April

-Bachelor(ette) parties

-Confirm RSVPs

-Create seating chart

-Order/print place cards

-Create floor plan

-Give final count to caterer

-Confirm all final payments

-Confirm shot list with photographer

-Pickup wedding dress

-Finalize transportation

-Share day of timeline

Day Before

-Bridal brunch

-Pick up/drop off cake

-Drop off/set up decor

-Rehearsal/Dinner

I wish I was as far king as you! In my defense, I’ve only been at the planning thing since 12/13/21, which is when I got engaged and then found out, due to a military schedule, we were best to try to do our wedding in Spring. 😅 Still have a lot in the works

But April is right around the corner! Ours is 4/24!This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know how you are supposed to sign your marriage license if changing your name? 😅 I feel like I’ve googled ad nauseam and there seems to be a 50/50 split on what you do so now I don’t know. Guess we could wait to ask when we apply for it, but if anyone already has insight on this, I would love to know!

View Quoted Comment Your officiant helps you out with marriage license. You would need to file for a marriage license within a week or 2 before your wedding. Could be different by state

View Quoted Comment So we did look up what we could find for applying and getting the marriage license (when&where&how early) it’s the name I sign with I am struggling with. If I am changing my name do I sign with my married name or do I sign with my maiden name is the question I’m trying to answer. We can’t get the license until end of March (earliest) so I may just wait to ask the clerk. 😅 I’ve asked others and at least 2 ppl I know signed with their maiden name and everyone else signed with their married name. Why is this not a straight answer 😅😅
